any good tuners on here?

i may be getting a z28 fri. and i would like it to be tuned correctly. it is said to only have a 60% tune right now. i would be willing to pay someone but i have NO clue about tuning at all. i live in the flint/davison area but would be willing to drive. thanks, jeremy

If it's an LS1 car, talk to Kirk @ Vector Motorsports in Clinton township, he does good work, did my truck, and my previous F-Body.

I took mine to Livernois and they f*cked it up...twice. Took it to Stenod after that and it's been running good ever since. They're somewhere around Troy.

What the heck is a "60% tune"?

If some seller was trying to tell me that about a car I would be very leary.

IF the car is running poorly it may be a bigger problem then the missing 40% of the tune...

I would suggest checking things very closely before purchasing a car like that.

depending on the mods i might already have a tune for it to get you going. I have tunercats but im not an awsome tuner, i do just the basics like egr delete, injector swaps, speedo calibrations ect... to tune you realy need a wideband, you can go off your stock O2's but its not as acurate. but i will suggest dyno don at backwoods racing in midland for LT1's he is realy good at them!

Kirk can't tune his way out of a paper bag. My SS drove like sh*t after he tuned it at APE. He got lucky with his mail order TBSS tune, and thats the only reason people recommend him. You take something to him with internal modifications, and hes gonna f*ck it up. He spent 5 or 6 hours trying to tune my friends car and the damn thing never ran right, he gave up and sold the thing when he got tired of ****ing with it.

Livernois seems to be hit or miss, Greg isn't tuning for them anymore so I would have more confidence in their tune, but you will wait forever. They charged my GF's dad an arm and a leg to fix some stupid sh*t on his car, and they half assed it. I'm tearing it apart right now and finding all kinds of fun things.

Dr. Phil is the shiznit, he tuned my stroked C5. However, he doesn't tune LT1 cars as far as I know.

This place is close to you. I don't know anything about them since they just opened last summer. You might want to stop in & talk to them. It's on the corner of Irish & Atherton in an old gas station bldg.
