Anybody have ATTBI (now Comcast)?

The switch from ATTBI to Comcast was yesterday (30th) and now I can't get online. From the 3000 emails they sent me the last couple of months my understanding was that it was just an email change and everything else should work fine.

Plus, yesterday my webpage was switched to comcast.net instead of attbi.com and it worked fine. Now it doesn't work at all.

I tried calling them but all I get is a busy signal.

Is anybody else going through this switch right now and having problems?

No problems here...but, I don't use them to host my website and I don't use the email account they provide. I was with AOL before we picked up the cable modem...so I kept that email address. As far as my connection goes....it's still quick and I'm still happy.

I didnt have any problems with connectivity last night. Not sure about today though, havent been home yet. I did have e-mail problems last night though. I followed their manaul configuration instructions for OE and neither account would connect. Not a big deal for me though, I didnt use either.

I've had comcast for a few months now and rarely had a problem at all. Saturday though, my service went out. I called and they told me my modem appeared to be bad, so they had me go swap it out on Monday. I tried the new modem last night and still no luck, they think it's a line issue somewhere now, so they are coming out - next monday.
I get right through when I call, NEVER had a busy signel. Sometimes I have to wait on hold for a few, but thats it. Are you calling 1-888-comcast?

Also in their hold message they said they were upgrading the comcast website yesterday so there may be times it is inacessible.

The # I was calling was in the last email they sent. I can't remember it off the top of my head. It was probably the same one because I did hear the message about there may be problems connecting but once they said they were transferring me to support I would get a busy signal.

I'm starting to get a little worried that they dumped my account. I never received a bill last month and I got one last week saying I was overdue. I wrote a check for the full amount and sent it in so they should have it by now. How long does a company usually give you before shutting **** off?

I'm back up. I was on hold for 20 min. but it's now fixed.

They did shut off my service temporarily on accident (so they say). They received my payment yesterday but for some reason the computers shut it off anyway.

Looks like I might have to look into DSL if this is the way Comcast operates.

As much as I despise ATTBI/Comcast tech support, SBC has typically been worse in my experiences. Plus, on average they arent as fast as cable in this area.

I had ComCrap for years - nothing but problems and I was more than happy when the competition rolled in.
They dropped connections - allowed spam mail - cut of my cable modem service when I asked them to cut off my tv service and on and on and on.

See if Wide Open West is in your area.
