DEFINITE Date for M9!

EDIT: Title changed...was "Working on dates for M9..."

Just wanted to give an early head's up for all you die-hard M Event freaks....

I am currently working on dates for M9.

EDIT: See my posts later in this thread for new and updated information.

I would also like to give out yet another invitation for suggestions for the next event or any constructive criticism regarding the past events. I would prefer by e-mail so I can deal with things like that one-on-one and on a more personal level.

Thanks!

Find someone with a nice butt to run the event. That guy last year scared the kids

All seriousness, you did great, no complaints from me. Just keep doing them

You told me mine was nice. You are so two-faced.

I wonder if any other clubs are willing to step up and try to take the Club Participation Award from Michigan Speed? We have a few months to prepare.

Well I will provide some input….Jason the events that I have attended are probably a good indication of the events that I missed prior to m5………. great!!! nice to see friends pitching in to lend a hand! Stress goes hand in hand when organizing an event and try not to stress so much, you aren’t mother nature

Ok, here is my .02…. as stated previously. And this had more pertinence to the cz nats……. The mid 8 second cars should have their own class. They aren’t even close to street legal cars. The q16 could be comprised of plated (with valid plate sticker) and insured cars, street cars , as much of a race car they might be they should be street legal. I know I won’t win, regardless I come to have fun.

Payouts…..if they top four could receive money I think that would be great. No not thousands of dollars just something, even if it is your entrance fee for the semi final r/u‘s. Obviously payouts are based on attendance, but every little bit helps. I am sure I have told you how much it costs to make a single pass, lol! Like I said imo, even a smaller payout is a good payout J

either way props to you Val and all oteres who lend a hand!

Okay, I'm in as a volunteer!

I'll talk to you on Saturday to see what I can do to help out. Probably won't have the Trans Am together by then anyway

I'd have to agree with Taner as well. However some of the fastest cars that will come to Stanton for the events have plates and insurance. Some of those guys race in the normal program there and that's a requirement. Obviously in Michigan if it was made after 1892 and can roll, you can plate it and insure it.

A quick 16 of true street cars would be great. I think the two outlaw cars that showed up for the Nats were a bit out of the norm. I certainly haven't seen enough of them to warrant their own class. So I have no idea what you would want to do in that case.

Of course you could choose to follow the structure Stanton uses for their normal program with an Outlaw, 9 second index, 10 second index and brackets. That's a potential car count problem as well.

This sort of stuff always offends one guy when you write up the rules. Who knows, it might just be me!

Oh you guys are gonna LOVE this...

It is 95% definite that we will be having it...

September 25, 2004.

Even better, we will have the track from 4pm to 11pm! Eliminations under the lights at M9! This means that we all don't have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn and freeze our asses off waiting for the track to warm up. M9 will be right after a a different club event that day, so the track will be all prepped and ready for us!

Tell me that is not awesome!

Talking

Who will be manning the timing booth at the end of the track with a 30/30 or .308 rifle to keep the deer from jumping in front of me?

This sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to it already.
