Re: Dyno Tuning ???

I'm honestly not impressed with the job APE did on my car, it still stumbles a bit at idle and runs goofy sometimes. I'm going to get it re-tuned at Livernois, but I'm going to do a few more mods first to make it completely worth my time.

How do I get a tune on my LS1 from them if they don't do OBDII?

Re: Dyno Tuning ???

I believe they can do LS1 cars and 93-95 OBD1 just not 96-97 OBDII

My car was done about a year and a half ago. Kirk was there at the time.

They said they gained some power over what I had from Ed Wright. WRONG, it fell on it's face. Nothing like having a head and cam car that runs 12.6. I sold the car because I was so pissed. I wanted to start new and see what I could do. It took me a year and a half to find one but just picked up the car listed in my signature. I will get it to the track and see what it will do in a couple weeks.

By the way, if you want a good tune. The easiest way is to pull the PCM and send it to Ed Wright. I was VERY happy with what I had after he tuned mine. I ran 12.01 at Milan. So, I would imagine that would be high 11's at a track like Mid Michigan or Norwalk.

Good Luck!

They can do all tunes at Livernois except for the 96-97 OBDII, LS1's are done all the time, mine is there now, its a top notch facility, you need to check it out!

Re: Dyno Tuning ???

Andy, what does Livernois charge for a tune? I was thinking of going to hardcore but they use the same tuner as APE, and they wanted me to buy some stupid *** handheld thing to go with it.

Re: Dyno Tuning ???

Mike
They are comparable to the rest of the shops around $500-$550 depending of course on the complexity of your tune and dyno time. They have a much nicer dyno setup also, including a dynojet and mustang dyno. Heres their number (313)-561-5500 give a call and ask for Rick, tell him Andy sent you and he can get you a qoute pretty quickly. Their great to work with and always answer there phones. Let me know how it turns out.

Thanks
Andy

I wonder how that is. Last year Greg said he could do my car there...unless he was the only one with that kind of software?

Yeah they are in the process of acquring the software, I would wait for them to get it in. I would tell Rick your going to wait for them to get it and to give you a call when its in because you want to be #1 in line!

Re: Dyno Tuning ???

Who's doing chassis-dyno tuning at W2W now? I head that Kirk was involved over there as well. Either way, it seems you can't go wrong with their shop, some amazing work coming out of there.

BTW, I'm a former customer of APE from the former regime as well, and I never imagined their customer service could get worse with a new owner. It seems I was wrong...
