FS: '79 Firebird Formula w/455

hey guys, selling my old Firebird. its very solid, no major body work needed, a few dings like you would expect from a 26 year old car. needs paint, interior is in need of TLC but its not horrible.

Other stuff
455 CID Oldsmobile
Edelbrock Carb
Mallory Hyfire ignition
B&M Megashifter
South Side Machine Traction Bars
Auburn Posi with 3.42 Gears

Have extra scoops for the formula hood
also have a T/A "shaker" hood and scoop
and the rear sway bar (cant use it with the traction bars)

asking $3000 or best

if anyone is interested or knows of someone who might be you can either post here or email me, and Ill get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks
Troy

man does that ever make me want another one. I had an 81 formula as my first hotrod w/a big block chevy and loved that car. but then the Iroc bug bit and I sold it to eventually get an Iroc.
anyways, sounds like a great price wish I could ****** it up. why did you primer it anyways? how long has it been in primer? what trans is in the car? power options? 4 whl disc's? just tryin to help. it does look very solid from the pics. how about rust?
good luck sellin it. if its as nice as it looks in the pics, shouldnt be too hard.

yea, I know what you mean about "the bug" I had a 79 T/A about 5-6 years ago, and got the bug for an LS1 car, so I got a Z28 and got rid of the T/A. this one I bought as a project, something that I could work on that didnt cost as much as the LS1, and that I could tinker with more. then I found the car that Ive always had the bug for a '68 Camaro and got that. so its bye bye to the 'Bird...

the story behind the primer is that it had a some scratches in the paint, and was startign to develop surface rust, so i sanded them down and primered and sealed them, but I didnt want a spotted car, so I primered the whole thing. you probalby cant tell from the pics, but I went over the stickers and all. at that time I just wanted a single color, and figured I would remove the stickers at my leisure then came the camaro and i spent all my tinkering time on that. also the pics dont show it well, but the paint was very faded, in fact the tops of the fenders werent red anymore they were gold....

it has power windows and locks, though the locks dont work, i have no idea why, again because of the camaro. its a 350 trans, but is built up. you can definetly feel it shift. the guy I bought it off had a built 455 in it running 12.30-12.40's with the same trans.
