Getting out of a lease early

Got one more year on my Taurus lease.
But the rebates,incentives, etc currently
going on are to good to pass up.

Anyone successfully gotten out of a lease early?
Any tips/tricks/advice?

TIA
Kevin

Can you say penalities? Most contracts have them. It's just a matter of if you can swallow the penality pill!
"Sides... who would lease a Tauraus anyway?? You are getting your just deserts, my friend!!! I bet you are even a Mark Martin fan, too... how sick!

Nope and from what I read in the company online newsletter they do not plan on offering any in the near future.

check with local dealers, if you go for another car, they may help[ you on the penalty issue

You could always drive it to Flint and leave it parked somewhere for a while with the keys in it. Either that or set it on fire.

Re: Getting out of a lease early

I tried to do the same with the wifes Alero she leases. Even if I purchased a new GM vehicle there were still going to be penalties. The best they could do for me is send the car to auction were it would get x number of $$ then subtract that from the buyout plus existing lease payments and I would have had to give them $3000 just to take it back.......needless to say she is still driving the Alero.

My advice would be to put an ad in the paper and see if someone will take over your lease for the remainder of the contract. It may cost you a few hundred in administrative fee to change the title and lease agreement over but it'll get you out of the payments.

Kevin, try Swapalease.com. It garnered lots of interest for mine, but ultimately no one wanted it cause it was a stick, and the one guy who wanted it couldn't get approval. It's definately worth a shot though.

Re: Getting out of a lease early

Check the offers. Lots of companies are accepting early lease trade-ins because lease turn-ins sell FAST and get good grosses for dealerships. I know GM is/was taking early lease trade-ins, Ford is another thing though. It all depends on what dealership you go to. If you guys want to talk to someone who wont screw you over in a car deal at a dealership, hit me up. My dad sells @ Sundance Chevy in Grand Ledge and wont screw you over. Hit me up with a PM if you want any info on how to get a hold of him.
