GTO LS1 intake=LS6??

my mom is thinking about leasing a GTO is the intake on the GTO LS-1 an LS-6 intake?
If i "trade" intakes with the GTO lease car will they all fit and blot up and whats the chances of the dealer knowing when we turn it back in?

It will be the LS6 intake but I wouldn't swap them if I were you, in fact if I were going to get a GTO I would wait and get a 2005 GTO since it would have a LS2 engine and 400 horsepower and kick the LS1's a$$.

Yea i guess its like $230 lease for 2 years on the 04 and my mom says she wishes it had a "normal" engine in it and not that "big" one. So thats not realy an option, I tried to convince her that an LS-1 was a "normal" engine by showing her the MPG it can get.

Re: GTO LS1 intake=LS6??

problem with that john is the only reason they are leasing them at all, esp. at the great price they are, is because the 05's are comeing, so who would buy an 04? noone. as soon as the 05's info got out, that is when you saw them available for lease. Id bet a ton of money that the 05's lease payments would be NOWHERE near what they want to lease an 04.

but to answer you question, no its not a direct bolt on because your car has an EGR valve pipe on the top/middle of it, and the GTO has nothing to put in it. and being front/and center, who wouldnt notice that? did ape delete the EGR function on your car? if so, then you can borrow the intake by installing a 32mm freeze plug into your intake and swapping the intakes. you'll also need to swap the coolant crossover pipes w/the intakes cause they are diff. due to the intake being bigger for the LS6 plenum. and if you bring it to me when/if you get it serviced, I wouldnt "notice" it. bob sellers pontiac GMC in farmington hills. tell your mom to call our dealership to price shop. then if she gets her car from my work, I'll get $50 for bringin her in. email me if she does get a GTO and let me know whenever your bringin it in for service and I'll take great care of it.

one thing i would worry about too. obviously the LS1 intake dosent flow AS good as the LS6. knowing that you will be choking the motor a little bit. I dont know how much of a diff that will make but there is the chance the computer will recognize that and throw a code. So while it may not be visiual to the eye the cars "brain" might notice.

this of course is just a theory and may not be true. sumpin to think about. Dont know if many people on here have tried putting a LESSER intake on

Ill let her know about your dealership. I allready have the EGR off on my car and the block plug in place the coad has also been flashed out so my car would be no problem. Thanks for the help
