I got a personal loan instead of a used-car-loan when I bought my DD. Interest rate was a little higher but it was the only way I could get the amount that I needed.

Same thing happened to me when I went to borrow money for my car. The bank would only loan partial as a auto loan and I did the rest as a personal loan. It worked out really well for me. They look at the blue book value of that 1994 and that is the most they will loan directyly on the car.

By the way, if you are in the market for a car have you seen this one (link below). This car is in AWESOME shape and fast as hell. It is also about $3,000 cheaper.

Good luck,

Bill

P.S. I did my loan through Chase bank and they were easy to work with.

Just an FYI - I am helping Chris (irocss85) sell the car - it's not my car, just my webspace. Chris is a good guy, and helped work on my Z when I owned it. If I was in the market, I would definitely give his car a look at.

Ask Jason. Seriously. And call me you something - something - double - grr.

And post a link... you know what happened last time you bought an LT1

On that subject, you could have had my SS with everything in it, the 9" and full BMR suspension included for $15K. Why do you want to spend that on an LT1 when LS1's with 6 speeds can be had for $8K, AND you can still get a loan on them?
