Thumbs down here's how my night went at milan.

well, tried to leave work at 4, to beat the rush hour traffic all the way out to milan. didnt happen. left work right at 4:45. then, on the way down 275, I was looking at my exit ramp onto I94 as I went by it. damn it. ohwell, turn around at next exit and back on track 4 miles later heading west on I94. start looking around for somewhere for my buddy john to pick me up some food. called him and told him of a McDonalds at exit 183. cool, he's just a few miles behind me. Im pulling my car on my trailer behind my caprice and Im forced to travel the slow lane on the right behind all the fricken semi's since I could only go 60-65. after I left I realized I didnt add air to my rear air shocks. and, I had the car a little too far back on the trailer, which all led to the trailer having poor handeling. anyways long story short I had to keep it under 65mph. a semi gets in front of me a couple miles after the McD' exit I told my buddy about, and then I realize that the lane I was in is now an exit ramp for somewhere. so I look over and just have enough time/room to squeeze back left to follow 94 west to what I think is gonna be I23 a little ways up. turns out, after a long time driviing and not hitting I23, that I WAS ALMOST ACCIDENTALLY GETTING OFF AT MY EXIT I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LOOKING FOR! I actally made myself miss my exit this time. but bad part is I didnt realize it untill 20 F'n miles later when I knew I had gone too far. so I turn around again. finally I arrive at milan at 6:45. 2 hours to travel what should normally be 50 min. drive w/o the rush hour traffic and w/o being a dumbass and missing my exits. then, I get teched in and proceed to wait in line for 50 min.s before I can make my first pass of the night. while I was waiting to make my first pass, they start telling us there goin to shut down the lanes soon. so I got to make 2 pass's after spending roughly $20 on gas to get out there and back, $20 to get in, and spending the whole night all just to get in 2 RUNS! F@@@!

anyways, here's my very upsetting results.

1 run.

1.68 sixty
7.81 1/8 @ 88.2mph
12.26 @ 110mph

the launch was great, pulled really hard, but feels like it starting losing power as I was goin down the track. thinking maybe I didnt have the pedal all the way down, maybe didnt hit my shift points good.

2nd run.

1.75 sixty
7.82 1/8 @88.88mph
12.25 1/4 @111.42 mph.

this launch felt good even though it was slower, and I know I had the pedal into the floor, and hit the shift points (6500rpm) reasonably well.

Im pissed though since last year, almost to the day, I ran the car for the first time and it went a best time for that night of 12.09 @ 112mph on a 1.76 sixty. since last year, I have swapped out my mild 3000 full size stall conv. for a 9.5" 3800 stall conv. (this conv. def. pulls harder off the line then the old one), swapped the trans since the old one wasnt built for racing and it would prematuraly shift 2-3 around 5000 rpms sometimes. this new trans works great, but still doesnt have a real shift kit in it. I hooked up a manual TCC switch this time around. and Ive removed the front sway bar brackets, a/c pump, a/c lines. so Im not sure why it didnt pick up any time from last year. I do know I need to get a dyno tune now since Ive lost some driveability after the stall swap. it now has some cam surge, will stall sometimes when coasting to a stop light, and I cant hold 1200rpm. it'll just bounce from 600rpm to 1500rpm and its rough in that rpm range too. after 1500 rpms it smooths right out. not too sure what to make of that. possibly I got a sensor goin out, opti goin out, corrosion on my coil wire or acring, or just tht the tune is now really out of wack.

Probably opti, this could also explain the loss of power you felt... I went through about 6 opti's in a sigle season, so i have seen them do all sorts of stuff

I know the feeling. We got to Milan at 4:45pm, teched in and sitting in the lanes by 5:15pm. Made our first pass around 6:30pm and went back to the trailer to give the car a once over. Got back in the lanes as 7:00pm and made our second and final pass at 8:30pm.

Just one of those days Chris. That sucks. And only 2 passes for everyone. Damn busy or something. The only thing I was looking forward to this morning was hearing about your 11 second pass. Real good 60' times though. I'd take the car down the road and get it tuned. I'll help contribute some $$$ for that.

Bummer bro!!!

wow, that sucks. but that was one of the things I was really bummed about. I thought I only got 2 runs in cause I got there soo late. typically if you get there right at 5 you can get in a few passes before everyone shows up.
ohwell, I didnt break anything and atleast the track was hooking well.

Im goin to get it tuned at CARS. just a matter of when I can afford it. more than likely it'll be near spring since I def. dont have the cash right now.

yeah, the oil down the left lane went past the finish, so that took a long time to clean up, then the brake fluid down the right lane later took about a 1/2 hour
