Becca you brought this all to light and frankly made yourself look bad. We are trying to help out as much as possible. Maybe my advice of going along on the ride didn't set well with you, but if you're scared to go then why are you working at a dealer? Isn't that part of your responsibility as an employee?
I admitted that I was an idiot, I'm fully aware of the mistake I made. But unless you've never made even one tiny mistake in your entire life you don't have any right to rub it in OK? And no, you weren't helping out at all, you were just criticizing.

And no, going along is not part of my responsibility. It never has been. Ziggy, my boss, doesn't go along for the ride either. Whether the person drives a car or not is up to his discretion, so if he thinks the person is just out for a joyride he doesn't let them drive it.

By the way, THEY FOUND THE TRUCK!!!!!

The kid left it on the side of the road somewhere in Ionia... Wonder if he ran out of gas and decided to ditch it? No word yet on the condition, but I'm just so thankful that they found it!!!

I just went back and re-read what i said. What I assumed was that you worked for a large dealership (or an "A Lot") when you work for a small "B Lot". The larger dealerships have policies in place for their protection but the small guys really don't.... and I see how this could have happened to just about anyone. Doesn't the lot have insurance coverage for drive-offs?

Of course, but my boss would rather not have to make a claim because it would go on his record.

And, apology accepted.
