Where's it leaking at?
I noticed some tranny fluid on the slip yoke of the driveshaft after I installed it. I wiped it all dry and will check it tonight to see if it is actually leaking or not. I have to do some measuring because it doesn't look like the 12 bolt is centered to the transmission.

Maybe I misunderstand, but the "pumpkin" of the rearend should not be centered. The axle tubes are different lengths, and I believe the driver's side is shorter. You need to have the "spare" angle just in case your pinion rises to 0° for some reason--that way you still won't get a vibration. Hope that helps.

That does help Pete, but it just looks funny having the driveshaft not straight from the tranny to the pumpkin.

Your ring gear sits way to the side on the carrier, hence the pinion may not enter the pumpkin at EXACTLY equal spacing. Measure axle tubes, this should make it more definitive.

Guys a little info for you. The axles are exactly the same length in a late model 10 or 12 bolt. And the pinion is dead center of the axle assembly. The ring gear is offset but the left side axle goes all the way thru to meet in the middle. I set my own posi up in my 10 bolt and installed the axles in Rod442s Moser 12. There is no right hand or left hand axle.
Now as far as the drive shaft not going straight from the trans to the pinion yoke. There are two possibilitys. 1. the trans mount and crossmamber need to be loosened and the rear of the trans moved to line it up. 2. You need an adjustable panhard bar to center the axle. Or a combination of the two.
And Chad, I have a magnetic angle finder that you can use if you want, to set up the pinion angle.

Thanks Al, that is some good information. I do have an adjustable panhard bar on the car now, so I will look at that and the tranny crossmember since Speedworks had to pull the tranny out maybe it is off just a little.

One other question, the only way to adjust the pinion angle is with an adjustable torque arm correct? I am still using the factory torque arm but have adjustable LCA.

I concur with Al, according to my interchange here at work, the axle shafts are the same part number, right or left.

No, with a stock torque arm you can fudge the pinion angle by raising or lowering the back of the tranny. Pinion angle is the difference between the angle of the tranny and of the differential.
