Post The Red Rag Runs again....went to Martin

Well, made it to Martin and met up with a bunch of people from the board. Got to meet Grover...NICE ride buddy Michigan Skip showed up to help with a bit of the computer tuning. BIG thanks for that, I learned ALOT. Rediroc, Sinister Sylcone, Purplehaze, and forumla94 all showed up too. ALOT of cars, but we had fun. Thanks to everybody who showed up. Its really nice to go to the track and also have fun people to hang out with. I hope I will see you all at the next get together. I got one run in, and for some reason I have this problem with UGLY cars beating me This time is was a ragged out cutlass with a big loppy cam. This has got to be a record for closeness. Stats below, and thanks again to everybody for showing up. Extra special thanks to skip, I owe ya one buddy.

Thanks man

It sure was nice putting faces to some more of the names I see on this board. I would have liked to have met 94formula. Quentin that has got to be the cleanest 'vert I have seen. I really like your center exhaust. That laptop stand that Michigan Skip had was really awesome.

I got a total of 2 runs in last night:

Run 1 Run 2
60' 1.955 2.268
330' 5.437 5.677
594'ET 7.753 7.986
1/8 ET 8.264 8.494
1/8 MPH 88.07 88.57
1000'ET 10.669 10.896
1000 MPH 101.38 101.38
1/4 ET 12.691 12.921
1/4 MPH 111.90 111.62

This was all on the Nitto's with the Hal's left on 7 front and rear. I wasn't able to run the slicks because I didn't grind enough off the brake caliper of the drivers side and the wheel was rubbing.

There were a lot of cars there last night, I heard them say somewhere around 230 cars with 74 in the street car nationals. So with that many cars and someone going into the sand it made for a slow night.

But I was happy with the new personal best.

Well, I had a blast last night too! That cool air was a boost for my old ride . Best N/A time to date. 14.329 @ 97.36 w/.584 reaction time. I did spin off the line and into 2nd so I suppose I would have picked up a couple of tenths. I have e-mail coming to Q and Grover on the AFR table. AND if anyone is really interested in the laptop brackets...... I'll be happy to make a few and work out something! For you nitrous junkies I have two of the bottle brackets ready to go. $35. Plus shipping. I have made up my mind on the winter projects, 3200 stall and 4.10 gears. Desktop Drag says 13.60's. That should put me well into the 12's with a shot of giggle gas. Then I can keep up w/Grover's car maybe!!! Thanks for the use of the wrenches. I guess I've had a total of 3 hours sleep since yesterday at 3:55am.so I think I'll fall asleep waching Horse Power TV. BTW who was that purple car that went sand dragging last night? j/k Hope everything is all right. Did anybody catch her time?

Yeah, I had a great time last night. It was nice to meet you Skip and Rebecca. Glad I could help with the jumper cables. We need to have an end-of-summer event (other than M7) sometime soon. Any ideas?

I would be game for one of those brackets you fabed Skip. I like the design, and you already did one. Let me know what ya need out of one and I will send ya a M/O or paypal. I am game for another weekend, but its gonna have to be fast. Bowling Green is in 2 weeks and the Red Rag goes off the road the weekend after. Get to finally pull that motor for a little "massaging"

Keep your eyes open, a post should be coming soon about an end-of-summer get-together for the west-siders...

Hopefully I can make it. Looks like I might not be making it to Bowling Green, at least not in the Red Rag. Tranny started slipping again today. We think it is just the main pressure selenoid. Putting her up on stands tomorrow and will drain and drop the pan and change it. If it is the tranny, I WILL NOT rebuild it a third time. I will go to a 6 speed and that means she is done for the year. Might as well pull the engine like I planned on, as well as the tranny. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is just a selenoid. Syclone, still want to buy it jk

Yeah, a monster in theory only right now. My tranny guy believes it to be the main pressure control valve, shouldnt be that hard. Gonna pull it today. Sure would like to make it to bowling green still with her. I hate the thought of riding shotgun with my brother.
