So who is working on their cars this week??

One day I'll get the GTA put back together
After undertaking this little project (LS1/T56 swap), I have discovered that I'm not a very good project finisher. Which is a bad thing, as I'm somewhere around the 1/2 way point of the swap. I hope I'm 1/2 way.....

What you need is about $1200 to earmark for odds & ends. Once you got that in place, someone should sit down with you, figure out the piddly stuff that you need to get mostly finished, then get the stuff, and then organize a party to get it 90% done. Well, at least started and running, anway!

Hmm... I like the way you think!!
to get it running I know I need:
an oil pressure sensor,
center console/manual trans trim panel,
exhaust (headers to the existing 3" catback)
pcm mounting bracket/ new radiator overflow tank
finish the wiring (ongoing)
fix hole in the LS6 intake manifold
fix/replace wiper motor - got banged up one of the times the motor went in.
finish mounting the pedals/ clutch master
new rad?? or figure out what hoses to getto rig something to fit.
there is probably more I'm forgetting, and I know there is some other stuff I want to get but is not NEEDED. A/c condensor/compressor/bracket.

dont forget the evap hose setup too.
where you goin to mount the pcm?
did you already wire up the fuel pump/sender?
when did you get a miata? should have swapped that LS1 into the miata. that would be sweet.

Well my project(cammed and roller rockered lt1 out of 94z28) has taken a hit this weekend. I was hoping to have it in and running by tomorrow but it doesn't look good. Found out yesterday that my hub, power steering pump, accessory bracket, engine block motor mounts, etc wouldn't work with my 95 impala SS. So I HAD to buy them from a guy down in Warren. Got the motor mounts in tonight and also the accessory bracket. Couldn't put the balancer hub on though(damn snap on hub puller installer wouldn't work) Have to make my own in the a.m.
I brought the motor home from my buddies tonight and we are going to go at it tomorrow for around 8 hours. If things go well it could get started. The little piddly stuff at the end is killing me. It gets expensive too. I am keeping myself motivated by forcing myself not to put on my new boyd coddington smoothies until the car is running.
keep the modding up guys. 07 looks like a good year for everyone.

The PCM will be going here:
I think this will work out to be the best spot for my needs.
I haven't finished the wiring yet, I have the new rear bulkhead pass through connector. We just have to get some time into it.
The Miata I got a few months ago in a semi-running condition because the customer didn't want to spend the $$ to fix it. So I bought it and fixed it up, not really intending to drive it much, then sell it in the spring (after the GTA was done). The Neon died in the meantime, so for now it is my daily driver.

I've been working on this for the past few days
It's not done yet, but I've been creating my own custom Y-pipe from scratch. It's the result of going to Long tube headers, a T56 retrofit transmission, and a retrofitted decoupled torque arm rear suspension.
There's a few more tweaks to go before it will be done.

I ordered the bends from Thunder racing, and they are $25 apiece. The three-inch and 3.5 inch pieces are from NAPA: They cut down some ten-footers for me, and sold it in minimum quantity of five foot. All I needed was a stinking four-inches of 3.5 inch tubing, but it still cost me $21 ! It's usually $5 per foot, and I have about 4.5 feet of it left. Maybe I'll get really ambitious some day and roll my own 3.5 inch all the way through. For now, it dumps into the 3-inch Hooker cat back and through the Aerochamber muffler that I like so much.
One of those 45's there come from the Hooker cat-back, actually. So it looks like in terms of materials, what you need are three 45's, six feet of straight 3-inch tubing, four inches of 3.5 inch tubing, one 3.5 to 3 inch reducer, and two header collector flanges.
Thats about $125 in materials.
I'm going to grind down all welds to make it prettier, then send it off to be ceramic coated, because the pipe gets really close to the floorpan in several places. It's really tucked up in there for maximum clearance.
Oh Denny, I bought one of those flowmaster merge collectors but it was way too long and I didn't have enough room for it because of my decoupled torque arm crossmember and driveshaft loop. Thus, I needed to create my own!
