Arrow Yippee...

Redtird now shifts into second all on its own!

One scarey moment today, car headed for the barrier upon second time trial launch. DRIVER saved it!!
Must of been oil or sumpin because that is the first time EVER that has happened. One of our board members, Tony has it filmed!

I was real nervous first round because I thought sumpin' in the rearend was going out. Dialed 11.85 as had run that in both TT's.
Would'nt you know it, car hooked and went straight for a breakout 11.78 on a 50 shot.

Mr. Quinn was there and running some 10.2X's, doing VERY nice wheelies!

Also found where on the tree the car now likes to leave, as last 2 runs were solid in the .5XX area Got some suspension tips from Steve I will try out.

I think things are STARTING to turn in my favor a bit here! One problem down, a few more to go!

HInk (still on the trailer after round one but feeling much better)

Good deal Kev. Now stay away from those gaurd rails.
You should stop by and help me finish the IROC up and I will try and give you some comp. I got a couple more things done on it today. I am hoping to finish it up this week or next. I think I have about 8 hours work left to do.

Talking More rounds coming...

Thanks TATommy, I feel I've turned a corner, just doing too much messing around with the car to get accurate numbers to dial off of! Example:

1) Had the tubes put in to the Hoosiers and rotated them on the car. While the tubes were not a problem, rotation was! Redtird was running a tenth off in the 60' for no apparent reason.
After sleeping on it last night, I remembered that it takes a few runs for slicks to reacculmate to a different direction of rotation, hence a little spin and guardwall incident! 3rd run of the day she left straight and hard, like normal of late!

2) Was also playing around with the 75 HP jets yesterday in the two time trials I got. Went back to the 50 HP jets for eliminations. Car actually went quicker as slicks had reset themselves.

Thanks Skip for all your input over the last month!

Chris... I would love to come over and help but license plate runs out this week and I have NO money to buy new tag as no disablement check for 3.5 months, while they figure out if I GET some long term disability!

Also I figured out why car wanted to 'cruise the cement' at Milan.
The 'poor mans spool'! Passenger side tire was in sumpin' slippery at the line, both front tires up about 6" for a little bit, driver side tire just pushed the car to the side. Sound reasonable?
I think so!

HInk

Kev I know the feeling about being broke. I went 1 1/2 years before I got my first check. I was making some good money before I got sick and now get about 1/4 of what I was making. The monthly checks just make the house payments and pays the utility bills. That is why I sold my truck.
On a happier note I have about 7 things left to do to the IROC. Knocked out 3 things in the last 2 days. I am hoping to do something each day and get it done by the weekend. The biggest thing left is some wiring.
I have been driving the 96 WS6 Formula but can't wait to fire the IROC up with the new supercharger. I am hoping for mid to high 11.5 when done. At this point I don't care if it runs 12. as long as I get it back on the road. I will have to baby it until I get used to driving it again. You know that is going to happen.hahaha
I know for sure the DR's are going to have to go back on.
I think a couple of the guys from the board are coming by tomorrow so maybe I will get more than one thing done tomorrow.

Congrats on getting the no shift problem ironed out. Now you can concentrate on racing instead of whether the car will work or not.
And I did as you requested in Bowling Green. Check out my post.
