I think it looks bad *** for a sedan. and, since it'll use the same chassis platform as the camaro, lots of performance parts made for the camaro will fit it.

No it won't sell like Camaro because Holden can only export so many (~30k annually). Camaro is projected to sell 100k+. G8 should be an excellent car once it hits the road here regardless. Pontiac needs this car badly.

it will only be exported from australia for the first year. the plant that will make the camaro will also make the G8 and impala (possibly others) up in canada. so price should come down a bit at that point, and production will ramp up too at that point.
I agree that I hope it has multi levels of engine performance. that would help it sell I think. just like the cars had in the 60's. lots of engine options.

yeah the v6 being the base car, and the v8 beint the GT version. you can bet the v6 version wont look so sporty. also, I meant more v8 options. as in say, base 5.3L, mid range 6.0L, and the GXP LS7.

i read that there were two v6 options and the LS2. IMO they can ditch one of the v6s for a mid-v8. If i were to buy a car like that id want a 5.3 anyway. 5.3s are ballsy motors, the LS2 would be more than i would need in a daily driver.
the other thing that would be cool is to offer hybrid power. They need to start offering it in normal cars like that... the reason nobody buys hybrid power is because of ugly packaging (prius anyone? )

I would imagine G8 GXP will carry the LS2 or perhaps LS3 depending on release for the GXP model since Commodore uses the LS2 currently. Never heard of another V6 besides the base other than Camaro which is said to be launched with a base fuel efficient and hi-po V6 itself. LS7 wont happen outside of Z06 and is out by 2009-2010ish anyway with C7's intro most likely. So far it looks like just V6 G8 and 6.0L L76 powered G8 GT's for the time being.
Chris, from Denny Mooney's comments on exporting Commodore to Pontiac, the venture may last up to ~6 years. Either way, I dont think G8 will be produced in NA this decade. Holden's manufacturing process is much different than the way cars are manufactured up here.
That leaves Oshawa #2 to crank out Zeta Camaros, Impalas and Lucernes which would more than likey take up the plants capacity anyway.
