Hello and thank you!

I found this board a few months ago while I was still looking for a new job. I was laid off in December...just when I was trying to make the decision to place an early order or to wait until there were cars on the lots. Well, I took the fact that I got a new job in April as a good omen and ordered my black 1SS RS the first of May. My salesman emailed me today that it will be going into production the week of June 29th. Now I can get excited!

This will be my 3rd Camaro. Had a '76 in high school and currently own a '98 Z28. One downside to my purchase will be that I'll be trading in my current car. It has almost 115,000 miles on it and has never let me down How do we get so attached to our cars, anyway??

BTW, I live in the Chicago area and ordered my Camaro from a dealer in Winamac, IN where I grew up. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and thank you for all the valuable information I've found here!

Do you really HAVE to off the 98? Would be cool to keep it and have the new one.

That would be great, but I've got no where to keep it. The worst is knowing the dealer can sell it to just anyone. If you know of a Camaro lover that would be interested, I'd sell it for what the dealer is giving me for trade-in :-)

Took delivery yesterday! I love it! Here are some pics. The '57 Ford Fairlane Skyliner belongs to my dad
