Seeing that when you sign up for Carfax you checked the "I Agree" box stating you would not use this account for commercial purposes.
CARFAX offers you access to the Site and to the Content available on the Site solely for your own personal and non-commercial use. You may not resell or make any commercial use of the Site or the Content.

When I had my Carfax "subscription" I made a post here for free reports. I swear I must have done like 50 of them. I'm glad it helped people though.

Charging for it is not cool IMO.

Now this guy is a tool.

 

I dont think he had bad intentions, but I think he went about it in the wrong way. I can appreciate the fact that $25 is a lot to pay for one report but sometimes you gotta pay for things you want. I am sure he was just trying to recoup some of his outlay, but it still is not right.

 

it's a pain in the *** to run free carfaxes though.

i must have done at least 100 of them on the corral.net once....but not doing that anymore.

imo, $1 is a good deal since everytime i bought a carfax acct, it was for buying 1 car....and i've bought like 5 times already.....5x20= $100

 

Just saw on the news that carfax is pretty useless.
They only have access to 23 states.
If the car had any accidents in the other 27 states it would not show up. Also, if they get in an accident and dont report it, carfax will show nothing.

Nothing beats an honest mechanic inspection.

 

Carfax don't want you running free reports neither.
