Re: 11 sec LT1

wow lot a questions but thats a good thing lol
yes the engine is still in the car it will be coming out this week
yes the t56 tranny was rebuilt to hold that power it has upgraded synchros and viper shiftforks and so on
the 9 sec pass was made on a 250 shot im sure that the engine could take more but 9's are good right ?
the motor was built with nitrous in mind
and the reason im getting rid of it is because the car was in a wreck the drvetrain is still in great condition but the frame in the back is done
and yes the engine actually makes fo a fairly decent daily drive with a 6speed
the electric water pump actually makes the vehicle run significantly cooler than a standard pump in cooler wheather the temp hoverd just a hair above 160 and in warmer wheather it was at about 180
and ill get you some pics out in a little bit
thanks for the reply

Re: 11 sec LT1

well, i'm an A4, how hard would that switch over be? I'm looking to stay automatic, so if that would be a huge hassle, i dunno. Have you ran it any without nos? didnt know if you ahd any times or hp numbers?

Re: 11 sec LT1

actually the switch is EASY just bolt up the tq converter and flex plate and get the comp retuned for shift points and such and your done
without nitrous the motor was abest of 11.3 @ 118
and i havent had it dynoed but i found a hp calculator and it estimates almost 500hp
and i tried to email the pics but for some reason it got sent back so ill post some links

Re: 11 sec LT1

Hmm, im very interested in this motor. Most of my questions have been answered already in this post. But i have a few left....who built this motor and would i be able to see it run? Also what brand are the internals and what kind of hp are they rated up to? I live on the south side of chicago so im not far at all and could come and pick it up without a problem. Thanks.

Re: 11 sec LT1

I heard that the 847 cam on the street will give alot of surge and bucking around 50-60mph since it's a higher rpm cam. did you have any problems with that? if not how did it perform on the street?

Re: 11 sec LT1

honestly the only surge problems i had were with 2.73 gears at low speeds ( less than 10mph)
in my opinion its a great street cam it gives you great performance and fairly good street manners
but when ya got darn near 500 horses do you really want good manners lol
