Re: 1969 z28 302 ci motor
These motors are getting harder and harder to come by. I've seen a few rebuildable long blocks for sale in the range of 3500 and up, and short blocks in the 2500 range. Obviously your going to get considerably more for a fresh rebuild. Have a look on ebay at the prices that sellers are trying to get.

Mr. Jones, Value is mostly determined by two things, cost of parts installed, and if it will be installed in a year model that matches the engine ID numbers. An original 302 is hard to come up with in today's market, but they can be built. A motor that would have matching numbers, at least for the year of Chevy it is being installed in would be a great value to a builder wanting an original motor to match his or her car. I currently have two 327 motors, one early and a later 327. I would say the early 327 is much more valuable than the newer 327, basically because the early 327 would be desireable for a builder of a 1958 and newer Chevy car. I hope you get a good amount for your motor, if you are trying to sell it. Do you have the 69 Camaro to install it in, OR did it come out of a car that you are going to drive?
