What is the stall, how much use does it have, and what was done to the trans? Is it in good working shape? Also, where are you located?

This transmission has the extra clutches added to it. It has approximately 1000 miles on it. The stall can be reprogrammed free, but at the present time, I think it is set for 3000. It will withstand 650 hp easily. It does not run regular transmission fluid -- it runs the 421 Mobil hydrolic oil. It is located in North Carolina.

Extra clutches won't make a 4l60 take 650 hp. Do you know who built it? Do you have a build sheet? I am looking at a pro-built trans but if yours has the right goods I would be interested.

Thanks!

Re: 96 4L60Ewith vigilante converter

There are no sheets with this transmission. I purchased the transmission from a friend who had it in a '96 Z28 Camaro. It was built by one of the best transmission specialists in this area. If you know anything about the build of these transmissions, extra clutches are added. To my knowledge there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I have the ticket where the converter was purchased new at $761.00. If you are still interested, please let me know.

I'm interested but I need to make sure you have what I need. I am considering the pro-built kit but I know other people can build good transmissions. You are correct that the built trans will have extra clutches, but to handle bigger power they will also have many of the hard parts replaced. If you could give me the original owner and the shop who built it I could call the shop and find out what they did.

How much are you asking for this setup?

All the best, Matt
