Don't buy anything from this guy. He sold me a rear end with bad bearings and a welded on wheel stud. Also sold me a motor that has a helicoiled crankshaft with the bolt in the snout CROOKED! He refuses to make good on these items. Don't buy from this guy.

I didn't put either of those items together... can't say anything about the wheel stud was done by the previous owner.. all I know is the gears/posi/install kit was new...installation was done by STS Performance of waco, tx

also the crank was properly helicoiled by them aswell.. I installed the under drive after the motor was built and everything matched up straight

You refused to make any of this right. I have to have the rear end redone by someone who knows WTF they are doing.

You NEVER helicoil a crankshaft! WTF man! I asked you if there was anything about this motor that I needed to know and you neglected to mention that!

So the rearend was trash? that's hard to believe.. all I ever had was a whine on the highway.. no clunks or grinding.. it had a $125 T/A girdle, $200 posi (series 2) $200 Richmond gears and a $80 install kit on it..

As for the helicoil I faintly remember it I didn't do it the mechanic did because the car was already back together and the machine shop didn't check it when they did the block, I removed and installed the pulley like 3-4 times with it fine it was nothing to be concerned about if you took any care at all putting the pulley on.

If anyone wants my feedback from other forums or ebay.. I got around 180+ Positive total with no other negatives except meangreen here... don't get me wrong I don't doubt what your saying but the story kept changing from rings shot to helicoiled crankshaft... the crankshaft was fine and my pulley wasn't flying off I drove it a little over 3k like that

Thanks,

Ryan

The rear end has bad shims and the bearing are bad. Whine is a bad thing. It means a bad install. Now the gears have a bad wear pattern. TexasDrivetrainPerformance said it was the worst whine he has ever heard.

The rings ARE bad. The helicoil in the crankshaft is not a good thing! Especially since it's not straight!

read up on the forums whine is pretty normal with alot of aftermarket gears, more so richmonds then any of them.. there is no way I could have known about a bad installation

I don't see how the rings are bad with the cylinder walls still having cross hatching from the machining process, the car always had great oil pressure and NEVER smoked

here it is running right before I pulled the motor

The statement that it was the worst a drive train specialist has ever heard says tons. You should have known by the sound.

Crosshatching doesn't mean good ring seal if they are not installed properly.
