Do Not Buy Product From Fiberglass Fabricators Inc.

I know this is not the proper place for this posting but it is the most viewed area and I want everybody to know. DO NOT buy a hood from Fiberglassfabricatorsinc.com. They also have a lot of stuff on ebay. Their products are pieces of crap. I got a hood from them and it looks like they dropped bowling ***** on it. Quote from the mouth of one of the best autobody guys in my area, "this hood is a piece of s--t" It is going to cost me another $500 just to make it decent enough to paint. I made the mistake of trying to get a cheaper price for a hood and payed dearly and I dont want it to happen to anybody else. Please pass the word if you know of someone trying to get a hood.

Hmmm....that's interesting. I bought an SS hood from them for my 95 Z and the workmanship was top notch. It fit perfectly and looks fantastic. You may have just gotten a bad one. Did you try and contact them to see if they would do anything about it? One bad experience should not condemn a company.

Yeah i did contact them and they said that they would charge me a 20% restock fee and I got to pay to ship this one back and ship a new one. I'll bet you if you look at your hood with a florecent light you will see the reflection of the light in the hood jolt back and forth instead of a straight line.
And to add on to that, why take a chance with a company that is hit or miss when they give you such a hassle about thier crappy products being retured, not worth the grief.
Unfortuneatly I do not have pics, I already have the guys working on it but take my word for it, it was ugly, craters and bulges all over the whole hood, especially up by the windshield.

Sending it back wouldn't cost ya the $500 it would take to get it to be able to be painted....

I agree they should take care of their screw ups, but sending it back would have been cheaper than paying the body shop...

My brother-in-law hit a deer with his 99 Z and bought a hood from them that is kind of like the 98+ Trans AM Firehawk hood. With the two scoops. I didn't see it before they started but the bodyshop called when it arrived there and said it was pitiful, worst crastsmanship they had seen. They had the car an extra week trying to get the hood to work out right.

Geez lots of bad reviews for them. I got the SS hood myself and was a little dissapointed. The Passanger side and front lined up perfectly flush. The drivers side from the windshield to about half way forward was fine, and then from the middle to the front of that fender the hood sites a little high. It push's down pretty easy though, so maybe Ill have a way to hold it down rigged up.

But I was pretty happy with the hood exspecially for the price. Oh and the hood only had a few rough spots. No big crators or anything. The whole thing can be sanded very easily though.

Thanks Jeff, Glad you got a decent one too, unfortuneatley mine, the hole thing needs to be sanded and leveled out which takes a lot of time, and in a body shop we all know, time is money, I learned from my mistake, but as long as my car comes out looking bad ***, it will be all worth while, just that Christmas will be a little ghetto this year. LOL

If you want more proof, go to fiberglassfabricatorsinc.com and click on 93-97 SS hood, look at the picture, you can see the bulges and crators in the light reflection on the car. The front of the hood over the left light is way above the fender, thats proof, thier own damn picture on thier web site, they are truly idiots.

In the picture 96healy was talking about is a prefect description of my hood. How the Drivers side of the hood is a little high from the middle of the fender forward. Its hardly noticeable and I can probably align my fender with it a little bit. But it does stick up a bit in that corner for some reason.

Looks a lot better if you use hood pins to hold it down.

I did.

yeah, but not only does it stick up, look at the light reflections in the hood, you can see the craters and the uneveness of the fiberglass.

im not sure about 4th gens, but my 3rd gen has little "screw" type rubber things on each front side under the hood that u can screw up and down to adjust the hood height. u might wanna see if u have the same thing and just screw the driver side 1 in a little bit to get the hood to come down and look decent.

good luck

My company had them do about $75K worth of fabrication for us. They suck! Unreliable! Do not keep Promises (time, apts, etc.,) Shoddy workmanship (their install)! Fabrication stinks (parts do not fit right together)!

I would never use them again.

My hood screws arent sticking up. Its just the way the mold they have is.

Im still not sure about hood pins either. Might look a little awkward on the car.
