This is the stock tranny with torque converter from my 93 Z28. It has ~ 74K miles on it, with about 10K on the complete GM rebuild (certified dealer). Some time after the rebuild the shift points were low, so I took it back to my dealership, and they replaced the governor gear assembly. It worked like a charm up until the end of last year, when it started doing the same thing. I ordered a new governor gear (same part that was replaced before) for it.

However, I got a really good deal on a brand new hi-performance transmission that I replaced my stock one with, and there was no core charge so I kept the stock one.

So now the trans is out of the car, and I replaced the governor again. It should be good to go now.

Before I took it out, the only problem was the low shift points. The 2 causes of that can be the TV cable adjustment, and the governor gear. I did not mess with the TV cable, as I did not feel comfortable adjusting it

Other than that, it worked great. The shifts were nice and firm, and not sloppy.

Now I need money to do a cam swap!
