I'm selling the Camaro, as I'm going to try out an M3 as a track car. Hopefully the LPE Z28 will be as fun for someone else as it has been for me.
1997 Camaro Z28 Convertible. Red on black, 24K miles, weekend and road course (track days, not racing) car. Fantastic setup for the track, and very drivable on the street as well.
Highly desirable and reliable 450hp Lingenfelter 383 stroker LT1 engine, with approx 17K miles on engine. Forged crank, 4-bolt block, JE aluminum pistons, Billet Oliver rods, 74211 211/219 camshaft, CNC ported heads, Fluidampr harmonic damper, balanced and blueprinted with custom dyno tune.
175hp custom wet nitrous system, used periodically at drag strip
All maintenance done on compressed schedule appropriate for track car
The car is well-sorted, and the engine hasn’t had a single issue since it was installed. Valve covers have never been off. Ran a compression test a couple years ago after last nitrous use, and engine is strong.
This car is a wonderful track car, and with the poly bushings to soften it up a bit, it's a great street car as well. Many of the stock factory parts come with the car and could be re-installed to make the car more suitable for a softer street ride._
This car is not only unique because of the Lingenfelter engine, but also because of the smog situation. Everything but the headers have a CARB EO#, and it has passed smog (visual and sniff) twice in this configuration. The engine EO# is D333-16, and to my knowledge, LPE is the only vendor of a California legal upgraded LT1 engine. I don't expect a car of this caliber, in this condition and quality, to last long on the market. This car is in the Sacramento California area.
Price $17,500. See http://www.go-fast.org/z28/forsale.html for details, or the whole http://www.go-fast.org/z28 site. email dmills@go-fast.org
