FS: "blower" short block

FS: "blower" short block
I am selling my current "385" short block assembly. It is fully assembled but no accessories are included. The block is the original block that came in my '95 Z-28. I ran it stock for two years and then made it into a 383 stroker. The block recieved all the usual prep work. Stroker clearancing, decked, bored and honed, mains align honed, etc. The crank was purchased for the original stroker buildup, which was "30 over" (4.030" bore). At that time the car had ~15,000 miles and it now has ~33,000 miles. It was next rebuilt three years ago. The pistons and rods were purchased then and it was bored out to "40 over". I ran it for two years in that configuration. And took it apart last winter. Turned out it was in fine shape I could have left it alone. But as long as it was apart I did the bearings and rings. The work was done by Proformance, in Rochester, NY. This year, since the project got so delayed, the fresh motor has hardly any wear. Less than 1,000 miles on the street and maybe 12 passes at the track, including a 140+ mph pass!
So, why am I selling a "fresh" motor? Well, I plan to really put big boost to it next year. Pulley that F1 Procharger up and let her rip! And I want a stock bore or maybe a 10 over block to have some extra meat in the cylinder walls. Probably not needed, but I want to do it as well as upgrade some of the other parts. I will get another Callies crank, but I looking at some Carillo rods. I figure that the whole assy is worth more than the parts, especially as it's all assembled and ready. Never been overheated, doesn't leak, etc. IOW, it works fine.
Parts list:
1. OEM LT1 block (from '95 Z-28) with partial block fill.
2. Lunati "Pro Mod" forged rods, 5.7".
3. Callies "Stealth" 4340 forged crank, 3.75" stroke.
4. JE "Extreme Duty" reverse dome -31cc 4.040" ("forty over")pistons with crowns ceramic coated by Swain Tecnologies.
5. GM iron 4-bolt (straight) main caps.
6. Clevite 77 main bearings.
7. JE piston rings.
The new replacement cost for this assembly would be ~$3,500. I am selling it for $1,600, buyer pays shipping. I am willing to drive a couple of hundred miles to either drop it off or meet the buyer.
If you want the cam, you can have it for an additional $250. It was new this year, a CC XE #3192/3196 on a 116LSA with a 112 intake center line. 224/236 @ 0.050" .567/.585" lift.

Hey rich can you send me some pics of the short block?
I'm very interested in it. What would shipping be to 60561? Can you get some pics of the cylinder wall surfaces and the main bearings?
Let me know

Having just built something similar I can say that this is an excellent deal!
Also, not that he needs any references, but I purchased a large ticket item from Richard awhile ago and everything went well - I would not hesitate to do any business with him again!

One thing I forgot to mention. I had it "partiallly internally balanced" just like a stock LT1 shortblock. So you can use any flywheel/flexplate balanced for an LT1. In case you didn't know, at the factory they manufacture 350 and 400SBC's against a standard external counterweight so that you don't need to have each assembly individually balanced but that the expense of internally balancing each assy is avoided. This worked well for me and I am doing the same thing again. IOW, you can swap flywheels/flexplates freely as long as they are made for an "externally balnced SBC". Available anywhere!
Jason: it's yours, let me know for sure if you want it via email.
Chris: thanks for the plug! I try to be completely honest and fair when I sell stuff. Ends up I don't get "top dollar", but I don't make any enemies.
filbielansk: it is still in the car, will be coming out next week. If it still isn't sold I will get pics.
