FS: Century Automotive-Built 200-4R Transmission Conversion
I am selling the 200-4R conversion package out of our 2002 Camaro SS. This transmission is one of the STRONGEST automatic overdrive transmissions on the market! I have made over 660 RWHP with this transmission and have run a best of 10.13 @ 130 MPH on a 1.39 60'. The transmission was originally bought in February 2003. I ran a full season on it, and the transmission was freshened up at Century Automotive last month. It has 150 miles on it since the freshening. It will come complete with the custom HD steel driveshaft with the upgraded $180 Strange slip yoke. I twisted the standard slip yoke slightly on a hard launch. It currently has a u-joint for a 1350 pinion yoke. It will include a new TCI Competition 4400 stall speed torque converter. This converter also has right at 150 miles on it and is in perfect condition. All of the other necessary hardware (i.e. detent cable, steel-braided transmission dipstick and tube, lock-up switch and wiring, modified throttle lever for detent cable to attach, etc.) will be included with the kit. This transmission has an automatic valve body, so it will shift on its own for driving around town. I also set it up with a manual lock-up switch to lock the converter in third gear while cruising around town. Mike Kurtz @ Century Automotive has put over 800 RWHP through his built 200-4R transmissions with no problems, and I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a problem with it. I will also include the custom sheet-metal transmission pan with the transmission kit. This pan has been on the car for three weeks and holds an extra four quarts for better cooling, and it will keep you from cavitating the trans. fluid upon a hard launch. It does have a drain plug on it, too.
I spent over $5,200 on everything listed here (not including the cost of freshening the transmission), and I will sell it all for $4,000 + shipping. I already have a HD crate built for the transmission for shipping. I have the complete build sheet on it, and you can also call Mike at Century Automotive at 713-666-2616 if you have any questions. FYI, if you have an A4 car that you're going to put this in, it will require that you flash the PCM with a six-speed VIN. This will be much easier than trying to make the A4 PCM work with the non-electronically-controlled transmission. The transmission can be manually shifted and shifts IMMEDIATELY when you move the shifter to the next gear. It will also work with the factory A4 shifter; that's what we used in our SS.
Feel free to give me a call at 806-866-0734 or e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com if you have any questions. If you're looking for an automatic overdrive transmission that you can rely on while putting down some serious horsepower, this is the setup for you. Let me know if you have any questions.
