FS: LT1 Canfield heads

I bought these here around 2008 or 2009 and put them on my car a little over a year ago. This what they looked like when I first got them.
I purchased these from a fbud on this list here.
The seller claimed:
CC = 58cc
Intake Valve size = 2.05
Exhaust Valve size = 1.60
Intake flow @ .600 = 270cfm
Exhaust flow @.600 = 200cfm
Intake port runner size = 200cc

Tape off the top box ...

Opening one end and exposing the passenger side head ...

Full view of the passenger side head..

Intake port side...

I'm receiving some LE ported TFS heads in the next week and will be pulling off these Canfields sometime during the next fair weather period (Feb?). When I bought these, I paid $700 for them w/o guideplates, springs, retainers, locks and they had 5/16" rocker studs. I put on CC Beehives, ARP 7/16" studs and got a 5 angle valve job. The ports are as cast. I will be selling them either as-is for $800(plus shipping) or shipping them to Lloyd for a full port work job and then selling them for $800 plus whatever Lloyd Charges me.

I will take the heads to my local machinist to have him CC' the heads. That is something I've been unsure about since I put them on the motor. The original seller said they were 58cc but another guy told me later on they were 64cc. There's precious little info on these heads out there. George Baxter went 8's in his Vortec'd Convertable Z28 with a ported version of these heads.

Great heads when ported, and Dave is a top notch guy.

Re: FS: LT1 Canfield heads

Thanks Jon
I've sent an email to Lloyd, inquiring as to how much he thinks it would cost to port the Canfields, treating them to the max porting job. I've had 3 guys inquire on the heads so far. Most are like me, dying to know what the chamber size 'really is'.

On a side note Jon,.. how much did those TFS heads weigh? Some inquiries on the Canfields have been "how much to ship to xyz". I figure if I have the approximate TFS heads weight, I can ballpark the shipping from here to there.
Thanks!

Re: FS: LT1 Canfield heads

Just got some feedback from Lloyd on porting the Canfields. If all the valves, guides, springs, etc on the heads are fine then it's only going to be $600 for the porting plus shipping to/from his shop! Great price if you ask me. So, the heads will go for $800 as is or approximately $1,400 + the shipping costs after Lloyd finishes them. If no one buys them, I'll just keep them as spares

You stole those canfields at 800 Back in the day those were bad *** & high priced sbc heads & if i remember they only came in 64cc for the sbc I do remember a 406sbc that ran circles around the competition on the dirt tracks in Indiana

Re: FS: LT1 Canfield heads

I was really lucky, at least I felt so at the time. As I mentioned to one of the PMs, the only reason I'm selling them and didn't get THEM ported was I don't like downtime on the car. Two reasons, no garage and no time. I can't leave the motor out w/o heads on it for 3 or so weeks waiting for the heads to come back while the motor is out in the elements. I like to have all my parts cleaned and ready to install when I take off the old parts. It will be interesting to see what kind of flows that Lloyd can get out of them.
