Is this for vented or non vented optis??? If its for vented i'll pass it along to a buddy he is in the market for a cam.

 

all aftermarket cams are for vented optis. the timing gear is what drives the non vented opti. i have this cam in my car and its pretty awesome.

 

What he said. I think the best budget timing set seems to run seems to be the LT4 timing set, but seems hard to find now.

As for the cam? I had originally purchased the 226/232 grind because I was going to be installing it on a stock 110k shortblock LT1 so I didn't want to rev it so high.

Said shortblock started knocking before I got a chance to install this cam, so since I'm having a shortblock built now, I'm taking the chance to upgrade it and go with a larger cam.

Price drop on the cam to $250 shipped with $300 insurance anywhere in the continental US.

 

I bought a CC305 and it was for a nonvented opti, so not ALL aftermarket cams are for vented optis, majority, yes..


I know the dowel can be swapped but im more concerned about the size of the hole for the opti snout to sit in...
