Ok now your putting words in my mouth?? When did I ever say i knew it all?? You're right, I cant tell that someones gettin screwed, bc u didnt get screwed, clean the crank up and stop whining. Even if it doesnt look "like new" u still didnt even pay close to what it would cost new, so id say u still got a good deal.

I know i wouldn't spend 500 bucks on anything without the money exchange in person...I sent 50 bucks to Euclid for an a/c delete and never got it...Needless to say, I havn't bought anything without knowing the person or meeting them. And that was over only 50 bucks...The crank doesn't look like anything is wrong with it to me, but i'd need to see it in person. Like has been said, take it to a few different places and get some more opinions on it. I think it can be cleaned up.

How many doctors miss cancer the first time? anyways, you get my point, give it a shot, as it seems you arent getting your hard earned dollars back either way.

Exactly....but your buddy wont refund this guy's money....so i guess in your view he's not a fair guy?
Ok the crank DOES look useable from the pics. But it does look like it was worked on a little. And if i was the buyer I wouldnt be happy either. A "reputible" seller would try to help the guy out some how not just make it his "problem".

Bottom line is the seller didnt handle the situation well at all. He shows no willingness to help or to even give a sh*t. Plus in his words "I wont be on these forums anymore anyways". and now we got his buddy ChevyTuff on here who isnt acting any better. He has "nothing to gain" by posting here originally, but now he keeps going on and calling names and acting like ****. BUddy its not your fight so dont come here and repeatedly make personally attacks on the guy.

By looking at the crank snout it looks like the crank had a dampner installed on it because of the visible ring. Have the journals miked. Rust apperas to be just surface and with a good clean up job it should be good to go unless the journals have some serious rust pits in them.

red,you need to at least try to work somethign out, maybe a shipping refund.rusted or not he still has a crank that im sure can be cleaned up and still used.i cant beleive its not servicable at all...but red,the only thing that bothers me is that u were trying to sell this crankobviuosly that had been sitting around, yet you mean to tell us that you didnt look at it at all until the very last monent when u went to ship it after being sold???i mean were not talking 50 bucks..if im taking that kinda money from someone i will be 100 percent sure the product is what i represent.and if you didnt notice it till you shipped it out like you claim did you even attempt or make an attempt to contact the buyer and at the very least advise him of th esituation or did you just say screw it,i got his cash ,adios??????

also guys and girls....let this be a lesson,,,i beleive in the old saying u ge what you pay for......and if it seems to good to be true it probably is....i mean example i dont mean to pick on him at all but there was a reply that said he bought a gear for 20 bucks less than anywhere only cause he really needed a gear..i dont know where he lives or what his situation was but i find it hard to beleive that was the only avenue he had to buy a gear asap?????you may save a few bucks here and there but if you get hosed just once what have you saved???/it will probably end up costing u more than if you bought from name brand reputable folk in the first place......

Re: Got screwed out of 505$ by RedThunder1994

The reason that I am getting so defensive is bc I know what that crank looked like when it was new. When redthunder got the crank from Harden Motorsports that crank looked brand new. Now, I am not going to eliminate the possibility that maybe Redthunder was scammed when he first got the crank and had no idea. I know how that crank looked when he got it and if i had the money I would offer to buy it back but I dont have the money so i cant. I dont live too far from Redthunder1994 so ive been to his house plenty of times and talked to him plenty of times to know whats been done with that crank and he has not even attempted to do anything with it or install it. Any and all rust that is on that crank is just from it sitting so long. He got the crank in like August and its been sitting since then. Now, as far as the rust on the cam that i sold. I cleaned it up before i shipped it out and it looked pretty good. I told myself before i shipped it that if the buyer was not happy with it that i would return his money, that is why I kept the money in my paypal account until i heard from him. I would have given him his money back but most of the reason is bc i didnt really want to sell it to begin with but I pretty much had to. You're right I am not Redthunder1994 so this isnt really my fight. Personally if it was me I would at least talk to the buyer and offer to pay to have it cleaned or something. I can see where both sides of this story are coming from. I can only provide insight as to what the crank looked like when I saw it. My opinion is that it looked damn good.

Re: Got screwed out of 505$ by RedThunder1994

I have had the crank looked at by not one but two sep. Engine builder's.. Both say that it might not have been used!.. I repeat MIGHT.. not have been..And the rust is a common problem and is not really all that significant in the decision to return it..either.. But they have both agreed that it was worked on due to the apparant heat signature's on the edge of the journal's..! It is in for a mic'n and magnaflux to determine if this is even still useable which i'm bettting it is.. and we'll all be hunkey dorey!.. Unfortunate for Mark whom paid 500 smacker's for what was a brand new crank and turned out to be a "worked on" one.. I'm not blaming who's what's where and how's.. I"m a fair guy as is most of the people around here.. and it was no harm no foul for redthunder to just give the kid back his 500 bux which he offered to pay return shipping.. and go on his merry way. So we'll see.. sorry the pic's are not that clear on the issue's.. i'll try to take some more and get them up for viewing.. gotta get this lighting issue fixed..

Re: Got screwed out of 505$ by RedThunder1994

There is one thing i can say for sure and I am 100% positive about this. IF that crank has been worked on before Redthunder1994 did not know about it. He was told that the crank had never been used and we never busted out a mic or anything to check it. We took the word of a professional builder and businessman. Hopefully everything works out ok and he uses the crank.
