It will fit under a stock 3rdgen hood as long as you take out that gold ring under the filter assembly. I used a non-drop base. And yes, I am positive its a 13x3 and not a 14x3. I have a 14x3 in my car now. I probably have had the filter on there for a year. If you have K&N cleaner then its not a big deal.
