LT1 block w/Oliver billet 4-bolt splayed caps
93-97 LT1 block w/Oliver billet splayed 4-bolt caps. This block is in EXCELLENT condition. This was a 396ci motor from my car, but will accept any 355-396 rotating assembly (one piece rear main). The machine work was done by MORE Performance in Charlotte, NC back when they were in business. They were one of the best LT1 engine builders in the country.
The block prep alone was over $1300 which included:
-Block cleaning
-Magnaflux
-Oil drainbacks in valley were all radiused for improved flow
-Stroker clearancing on pan rail
-Oliver Billet 10 degree 4-bolt splayed main caps
-4 bolt splayed conversion (drill/tap)
-line bore/hone
-.030" bore
-hone with torque plates
-block decked
-holes chamfered
-block cleaning
-new freeze plugs
-paint block (gloss black)
Another nice thing about this block is that the Lunati rods in the motor do not require as much clearancing on the block pan rail area...thus leaving significantly more material around the water jackets.
The bores look just as they did the day it was machined. No wear on the thrust side of the bore. This motor was a very high dollar build and there was no cost spared.
Here are some pictures. The rotating assembly does not come with this block....it's just for the block alone.
Here are some comparison shots of the oil drainback holes in a stock block vs. this block (reshaped to improve flow):
