Price quote on Z28 w/ blown engine

Well, turns out the rings crystallized in my 1994 Camaro Z28. It's arrest-me red with grey cloth interior, A4, a/c, CD player, pw, power pretty much everything, t-tops. Has around 135K miles on her. Everything else is in fine shape *as told by a mechanic*, just the engine is blown. What is market value for a car like this? In otherwords, what would someone pay for it? Thanks alot!

There is 135K miles on everything. The previous owner installed a Hooker catback and a Moroso CAI at around 95K miles. Descreened MAF. The car is currently in the shop and will be back tomorrow most likely. There are a couple dings on the body, so I will inspect it tomorrow and let you know everything if you're truly interested.

You can purchase a new engine for about $800 or so (lt1) or you can get a bottom end for it (you can get those for like $300-400 or so) and the car would be worth a lot more man...

Well truthfully bro, I'd rather have something else for a little while. Now I LOVE LT1s, I absolutely do...but I just want a temporary change. Looking for something I can pack more friends in and go camping in, so I am looking for an old Jeep CJ. Come fall though, I will probably end up getting another LT1, or an LS1 if my financial situation then permits. So, I am looking to sell my baby w/ a bad engine and then scrounge up some more money the best way I know how and get an already lifted Jeep CJ..because I know that no one would trade me a decent CJ for the car in it's current condition.

It all depends on how nice of condition the car is in.

I would say bottom dollar - 1500
top dollar - 2000

Unfortunately, I don't have any pics at all since I don't have a scanner. So, I was just asking a quote on the price to sell it locally. Sorry about that

You don't need a scanner. Go get a disposable camera and get the print outs on a CD. Now you can e-mail the pictures to people who WANT to buy your car.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys...

First off, if you didn't read in my new thread here it is...I apologize to all of you that I didn't get back to yet. Sorry, things have just been a little hectic lately Both my mother AND myself were in the hospital at different times. Turns out I will go ahead and have the engine completely rebuilt instead of selling this guy and buying something else. HOWEVER, I am not sure on this yet, but I MAY be willing to sell it or trade this for an LS1 once all is said and done with the engine rebuild. Any idea what my car would go for with the rebuild? The local shop that it's at now gives it a totally clean bill of health on everything else. Turns out nothing is wrong with the transmission at all, which is what I originally thought the problem was. I am also sorry about not posting any pics. My sister has a digital camera that I just found out about and she was saying she would let me borrow it, but I never got it and now the car is in the shop again sooo...I will get some pics of it after the rebuild if anyone is interested! By the way, if I decide to sell or trade this guy for an LS1, I prefer to deal LOCALLY. Sorry, I just do not really trust an out-of-state transaction right now and I prefer to deal face to face and buy the car sight-seen.

Thanks!
Allen
