96 z28 would have a 3 carrier right?? That model number is for 2 .... I'm I correct??

 

it depends on your stock gear ratio. if you have a 2.99 gear ratio or below you have a series 2 carrier. if you have a 3.00 to 3.99 gear ratio you have a series 3 carrier
