Aluminum Rims still shot!!! MikeLS?
Man I am soo pissed. I posted a message here a few weeks back about my own mistake using Bleech Wite on the tires. I got some overspray on my Torque-thrust D-'s and it left some spots. I have since called the company and they told me to try Blue Magic and/or Eagle One NeverDull. Well I have tried those and it has taken some of it off but it still looks like crap. I have been trying to "work" out the spots but it is hard to tell if it is actually coming out. Doesn't look like I am making major progress.
Does anybody have any other ideas???? MikeLS, I think that you said something about red or green polishes that might work. I am ready to try anything. maybe a little acid will take it off huh?
Just kiding about the acid.........

The metal polishes you listed are very, very mild and will only remove so much, you need a multi stage polish system starting with a rough polish abrasive wise and end up with a fine polish. Heavy Metal polishes makes such: http://www.autocandy.com/autocandyhmp.htm
you can also find these different levels of polish compounds sold at big truck stops.

Bleech white will attack bare metal and ruin it. I only use car wash to wash my tires but if you have to use a cleaner, use diluted Simple Green and do not let it stand on the wheel for any given time.

I've never heard of Bleech White or used it, so I can't say exactly how to take care of it. In this case I would normally try three things though. First the clay bar, probably won't do the trick, but you never know. Second, a strong wheel cleaner like Meguiar's Gold Class. Rub some into the area with some pressure and see if it's disappearing. Third, a stronger metal polish, which is more likely to yeild results. I've heard good reports from Mother's Clear Coat Wheel Polish taking care of things like this, but I'm not sure exactly how aggressive it is. Also, you could always try a mild to moderatly aggressive paint cleaner or abrasive, like Body Scrub, or 3M SMR or Compound. The abrasives could eat away more surface though, so use with caution. A small dab on the area would be all you need to try.
Like Kevin, I've given up on any harsh wheel or tire cleaners in favor of pure car soap and a mitt and some scrubbing. I don't even use Simple Green anymore. No harsh chemicals=no possible headaches later.

Bleche white is some stout stuff! My Dad has used it for years and years. It will clean tires big time. However, you don't want it on your wheels! I've ruined the clear coat on the wheels on my wife's car using it. You will have a nice coughing fit if you breathe it also.
I have billet aluminum wheels on my truck. I use bleche white and Super Clean to clean the tires from time to time. I spray VERY carefully,or just wipe the tires with a rag soaked in the cleaner. I spray away from the wheel also.
As for the semi truck polishes, they work! I polished an extremely dull alminuum wheel with some truck polish and it was like chrome when I finished. I don't remember the brand. However,Eagle One has polishes like that on their website.

What is MAAS and would it work?
Also I have left two messges for the autocandy guy and he hasn't called me back yet.
No real truck stops in the area for me to run out and get some "medium" polish.
Discount auto and pepboys don't have it......tried doing an internet search...still looking......

MAAS is a mild metal polish, about like Blue Magic, very mild, will probably not make a dent in what you have.
Here you go:

This web site has a slew of metal polishing stuff, might want to call them and describe your situation.
