Well you might try adding a water filter to your outside hose line. I've seen many types of general water filters at places like Home Depot. Try one that would attach to the hose fitting. This should cut down on most of the minerals in the water.
A even easier solution would be to not let the water spots dry on the surface after washing. Some general tips.....don't wash in direct sun or you'll always end up with spots no matter how clean or dirty the water is. Also, don't let the water sit on the surface after washing. The quickest way to remove 80% of the standing water is with water. Take the nozzel off the hoze and let a steady stream float over the surface. You'll be amazed at how the sheeting action "pulls" most of the water dropletts off, leaving just a little to clean up. Immediately after you're finished washing, use something to dry the car. Many prefer the Absorber, Microfiber towels, cotton towels, etc...
And, as always, keeping the car waxed will help keep the spots from etching deeper into the finish.
HTH!

Guess I was looking for an easier fix Mike... I have special drying cloth and yes we have sun here in Arizona (to the extreme)...but I like your idea about the hose filter THAT may be what I need..we have the harddest water here in the country!
