"Autopia will be back on Monday. Why don't people wait before jumping to conclusions that Autopia is going to be a paying members only site? Please get all the facts straight before posting."

Rockster or whoever you are...........

You either work for David or Autopia or you have an ax to grind here on camaross.com.

My advice to you is to chill out take these posts as an opinion!

We are all just expressing our own individual opinion on whatever the subject line is.

Since your in cahoots with Mr. David then tell him to put out an APB on what the hell is going with his message board.

Thank you

Check this out, http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...threadid=14693

Forums back as of this morning. I never noticed before but CMA disappeared as the sponsor on one of the server outages/moves.

Looks like David's trying to find a way to cover his costs to keep the site going without having to chase down sponsors.

I am not in cahoots with David Bynon. He is a solid guy who I have had cordial e-mails with.

I am a Zaino user and have defended it there many times.

I was just expressing that the forums would be back today and all I got was slammed for it.

Well, OK, the forum looks like it's there, but I see no topics, so what gives there?

And all I was expressing was the autopia link where it was going to be for paid members only, and "I" got slammed for it. On several other forums, members were expressing the same link and info, yet you choose to jump down someone's throat about it. I never said that it was gone for good. Besides, it looks like I don't have an account there now anyhow because it won't accept the login. No posts, no login.....hmmm

Rockster,
I think you took my post as a slam on the autopia community. This was/is not the case. As I said, I was merely relaying the info in the link that DAVID created, to others. The same thing was being discussed, in a civil manner without bashing, on other forums. I see nothing wrong with discussing a link that specifically said it was for members only (paid). If this was/is not accurate it should have never been created. If the forum is back to its former glory, great, that but is NOT what was initially stated. And, I can't see a single thread either now anyway....

Hi Mike,
How did you get back on Autopia. I tried my old log-in and password no luck. I submitted for new password.. no luck. What's up? I wrote David to find out the procedure ( necessary membership fee) to open account. Still waiting response. Let me know if I am doing anything wrong?

I don't think any of it is working. I think you have to buy the Autopia detailing book to be a member that can enter the forums when they get built.

blkZ,

It was rather bumpy for me to get back in as well. I thought my account was disabled or something as I couldn't view any posts or log in. I submitted for a new password and tried it a dozen times and it still wouldn't work. Finally, after a dozen tries, it let me in.

About the members only deal: For now David has said that it will remain free. He does not want to deal with paid advertising as a source of support any longer. But, he did say that there would likely be a members-only section in the future with more content than a "free" membership. He's also working out a donation link for support. I'm just happy it's still free. Several members thought it would be "members only" right away like myself. Anyhow, good to be back!

There was a lot of content lost though. Many good posts are now history.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Like you I tried numerous times to login and finally achieve the goal. I am afraid to log out because of this existing login difficulty. I even tried logging in on another computer without luck. The funny part the home page denoted me being on-line but as I tried to access the forums... no luck .
We will see how things shake out.

I think I might see what's going on with the login problems. Certain login areas seem to be malfunctioning, like the ones at the top of the page, such as "UserCP," and the general login when you try to open a category or post a new topic or reply. I've found if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the homepage for the forums, there's a little log in area, and that one consistently works. That's the only one I have found that works so far, and found it by trial and error wondering what's going on. Try that one and I'll bet you'll get in!
