Angry Cleaning seats that are soaked in coke...

So, I go out and buy the wifey a used 99 accord (she picked it out by the way Well, to make a long story short, we bought the car from a used car lot, and apparently whoever owned the vehicle before us did not have very good friends. Its almost as if someone took several 2 liters of coke and just dumped it over the interior of the car. Now the scammy dealer we bought the car off of did a pretty decent job of hiding everything. It wasnt until I decided to shampoo the seats that I realized what happened. Each time I try to clean them, more coke comes out. Its freaking pathetic.

Does anyone have any good tips on cleaning cloth seats that are sopped in foreign liquids?

Thanks!

T.

Tried a carpet cleaner? If you are using that then an upholstery shop is next...

Tuff Stuff with a damp rag, just keep going over it until no more Coke comes out. If nothing else works, there's always fabric paint...

Re: Cleaning seats that are soaked in coke...

was searching around for plastic cleaner, and found this thread..

anyways, I just used "Kids n' Pets".. Bought it at Target.. Comes in a simple big plastic bottle with cute blue and yellow words. The actual product is just liquid.. Its awesome, better than any of the foaming carpet stuff I've used so far. I just put some on a cloth, and then wipe it over a few times the coke stains on my seat, and it instantly comes off..

Its a bit strong.. The directions say to let it soak, but unless the stain is really stubborn, I try to use the least amount to make sure it doesn't fade the color of the fabric.

Cleans cat puke, bile, and blue paint off carpets very well too. heh.

Re: Cleaning seats that are soaked in coke...

dont know how hard it would be but when i got a small amount of gas on my back lower seat in the formula i pulled the cover, washed it and put it back on. this forced me to get hog ring pliers and hog rings which iv been needing for the longest.
see what it would take to remove the covers and wash them.
