Cool got some meguiars car wash

I couldn't find the gold class car wash so i guess I got the "cheap" pink stuff. It is actually called car washing gel, I think (the bottle's not in front of me). Any thoughts on this or the difference between this stuff and the gold class?

The Gold Class has recently changed in formula I believe. Back when I used it, it was like washing the car with nothing but water alone, it gave NO suds, I mean none. And it didn't clean very well either. But, it seems they changed it for this reason and now it foams and cleans better. As far as over-the-counter soaps go, GC is one of the better you can buy at it's price. The pink soap is the cheapy stuff though, and I'd use it on a beater...

The Gold Class wash is outstanding. I use the Rich Suds though because of the rich suds.

I love how the car feels after a Gold Class wash job.

I understand that the gold class is obviously better, and probably shines better, but will this "cheap" meguiars car wash damage or hurt my paint/clear coat at all or is the difference of the 2 just in shine, not "gentleness" if you know what i mean?

No basic car wash is ever going to hurt or damage your clear/paint in any way (unless it didn't produce enough suds to lubricate the surface). You're already on the right track. The main differences between wash formulas is the cleansing power and additives for extra shine and slickness. The GC wash seems to be a little higher on the gloss side than the cleansing side IMO...but it's a good balance between the two. Econo wash solutions are mainly just basic cleaners with low quality and few gloss additives. It would take a very strong wash solution to do damage to any paint surface, but they do exist, mainly as prep washes. You'd never find those types in any department or auto parts store though, so no worries...
