Post I bought some towels and a wash mit,Are these cotton?

I went to WalMart and bought a small hand towel called Jubalee? 100% soft.I hope this is alright.Ill cut the edges off. They are softer than what Im using. The other thing I bought is a Turtle Wax cotton Chenille Mitt. This is also very soft but doesnt come out and sa 100% cotton. Anyone use these? Im still haveing a little micro marring and I thought if I change out my old bone sponge and a new buffing towel it may help.....Mark

If it had the cotton logo on it, the towel is probably OK, BUT, I've never seen a quality towel at a Walmart or any othe rdiscount store. They stock cheaper versions, so they can sell them cheaper.

The only true 100% cotton wash mitt anyone has been able to find is the ones at NAPA. I've bought a bunch of them just so I'll have the true cotton mitts.

If you aren't getting any swirl marks when using them you may be OK, but I'd still invest in getting 100% cotton supplies.

Thanks for the reply Kevin,The mitt has to be better that that old bone sponge Ive been using but I will go to NAPA and check it out. Hey how was Bowling Green. Sell any Zaino? In the Isle at Wal mart I saw a guy looking at some cheap wax and I had a hard time not going into my Zaino shpeel.I resisted though and he bought some turtle wax.....Mark

It is KevinSS who is selling the Zaino at Bowling Green this weekend, not sure how well the sales went, but I'd bet the Vette folks are the biggest users of Zaino. I did drop in at the corvette museum to see KevinSS on Saturday for a while.

Boy, no kidding, here in MinneSNOWta, too. I am really dreading another winter coming so fast. BTW, did you ever get my reply to your post about your road trip to Niagara Falls, I think it was? You had asked previously how things turned out last summer with all the problems I was having, I sorta updated you in that reply. Happy Labor Day!

Yes Rox,I got your reply and thanks for asking.Ive got the Formula back to where It shines excellent. It took quite a bit of cleaning though.Boy Ill bet winter is right around the corner in Minn. We had a pretty good frost Sat night up here in Maine. It got down to 36. I live on an Island so the snow isnt too bad right here.Im thinking of getting a replacement muffler if you noticed my other post.Got any suggestions?Hows your SS going?.......Talk later....Mark

You had a good frost ALREADY??? Ooh, that makes my head ache just to hear it. Yes, we can feel the coming of autumn here in MN. The goofy weather forecasters are already saying it's going to be a long and snowy winter, hope they are wrong!

So, what are your thoughts about your new muffler? My SS is going right along, cross my fingers. As I mentioned, I still have some annoyances with it after last year but have given up fighting with the dealer, just not worth it. I am considering putting a Corsa exhaust system on it but will wait until next spring now. I'm not really sure why I want to do this, I actually LIKE my stock exhaust. I may have to rethink this.

I saw your post on the Z5. You know, I think it was Kevin V who had a good suggestion for using Z5. Said he had a couple scratches that he treated every day with it and eventually they were not even noticable. I'm doing that now with a couple I can't get out with normal Z5 use and it does seem to be working. Thanks, Kevin V. I would like to see a new Z2 polish with the ZFX built right into it, that would be great. Got your ears perked, Sal?

What's it like to live on an island in New England? Sounds nice but do you ever feel a little closed in during the winter? Not because you can't leave, obviously, just because it seems to me a little more isolated? Probably nice and cozy, huh?

Problem I found with Wallymart towels is the backing isn't 100% cotton. Look closely at the tags, a lot of their towels will say "100% Cotton" and below that in writing so small you can barely see it is "loops only" or something to that effect.

Only sure way I know to test is to burn a little bit of the towel in an ashtray. 100% cotton will leave a black, powdery ash. If there is any polyester, it'll melt and there will be little ***** mixed in with the ash.
