He can explain a lot more then I can, but I asked him about it also. He buys the "elite" towels from this website:
http://www.microfibertech.com/eliteTowel.html

I tried them out myself and like them a lot.

Erik summed it up pretty well..... Glad you like the towels Erik!

I do love those Elite towels from MFTech.com!

If you need some background info on Microfiber, I'd suggest reading this site for general info: http://www.properautocare.com/micwhatbigde.html

The Elite towels from MicroFiberTech are VERY similar to the very expensive towels from that site and other sites. There are not many manufacturers of the premium MF currently so most of these sites use the same distributor and mark up their prices according to the profit they want from it. For the price, the MFTech towels are superb! After doing much research on MF, I believe these towels are one of the best on the market currently, especially for the price. IMO, they beat any cotton towel I've ever used for wax/polish removal or QDing the car with products like Z6. I'll probably not use cotton bath towels on my car again since the MF do not lint at all, do not scratch at all, and pick up the wax residue like a champ. For detailing purposes, these towels are a must, IMO..... I must state though that, like any towel, if you try to cheap out and buy some local MF, it will likely scratch. Just like improper cotton toweling, cheap MF WILL cause problems. So, if MF interests you, I'd highly recommend you use premium MF on the paint, and use cheapie MF for interiors, wheels, etc....

MF has made detailing so much easier, better, and more efficient for me that I can't imagine how I managed without it so long.

Another source I would trust for MF is www.dftowel.com Those towels are very nice as well, but more pricey.....

Long live MF!

HTH!

Mike

I can almost guarantee you those will cause fine swirls in the paint. I have not found a local MF product yet that didn't cause some scratching and marring. This is why I'll only recommend the premium MF for use on the paint finish. The cheaper stuff is good for interior work, wheels, glass, etc.....

The good quality MF is much softer, plusher, will not scratch, not lint, and is constructed much better.
