My detailing/Zaino experience.

My detailing/Zaino experience.
I finally found time to detail the Mustang after having it for about 5 months. I started out with the claybar which I was considering not doing, but there was some water spots and some bugs on the front bumper that wouldn't wash off. I wasn't about to "fingernail" them off either. So I clay the whole car. It was so easy to use. The trick really is to use lots of lube. There was no clay residue on the car and them water spots and bugs that had been there for months came off without any effort. The whole car felt ultra-smooth. Even though this was a relatively new car, only 5,000 miles, you really could feel the difference. Then I dried the car with the CWB and the absorber which work perfect as a team. Then it was time to Zaino for the first time. I z6'ed the whole car to get any remaining spots out. The car already started to glow. I applied the first coat of Zaino using the ZFX. My main purpose of Zaino'ing this car was for protection. I've used Zaino before and it does last for months and months. I knew that the car would shine, but I wasn't expecting the results I got. I've mainly used Zaino on darker color cars (patriot red, black) which gave an amazing glass/mirror like shine, but this car is mineral gray (pewter) so I wasn't expecting that miracle shine. I was very wrong. After buffing out the first coat of Zaino with a Fieldcrest Charisma towel the car absolutely glowed. I got lost looking into the paint. I truly was amazed. I went on to apply 2 more coats for the day using z6 in between. The Zaino dried so much quicker using the ZFX. I did the hood of the car and by the time I got to the rear it was already dry. About 2-3 weeks went by and surely the Zaino must have deteriorated a little. It rained for 2 days and nights in a row and the car was full of orange/red clay (I just moved into a new neighborhood and houses are going up all around me). I washed the car with z7 and BAM the car looked like I just applied 3 coats that day. I can't wait to go back out there and Zaino again. Is it just me or is this stuff addicting???

YES! It's most certainly addiciting to have a beautifully detailed car, especially with Zaino! I'm glad more and more people are seeing and feeling the difference claying makes. It's nothing new really, but it really leaves a perfect surface ready for polishing or waxing. A must do IMHO!
The Z7 is definitely my favorite car soap. You are completely correct. After a wash it looks just like another coat or two of polish has been applied. Before Zaino, I never really experienced this effect when washing. Sure, the car would come out clean, but not looking like it was just polished!
Anyhow, nice job with the detailing!
