My Mother's California Gold Pure Carnuba Wax Review = Don't waste your money
I went to Murray's today, a local auto parts store, thinking I'd try some new wax since my Meguiar's Gold Class wax was out. I saw the "pure carnuba" and it caught my eye, so I purchased some thinking it'd be a good layering wax. To anyone that hasn't made the mistake yet, don't waste your money. Stick with Meguiar's. It went on easy, of course, as it's just paste, but rubbing it out... I must've put thousands of fine swirl marks in my paint trying to buff it out. It dried rock hard onto my paint in the matter of less than a minute, and I had to use my entire body weight against the car to buff it out... and I know that isn't good for paint. I applied the wax to one panel at a time and then buffed it out as soon as it hazed, all in all I only did half of my car and it took a good hour.. most of which was rubbing and cussing about how horrible it left my car looking. Even after finally getting it all off, it felt about as smooth as the opposite side of my car felt... and it hadn't been waxed in a good week. It left a nice shine, but hell any car will look good if it's clean. All in all, even if it's only $9.99, don't waste your money on this Mothers wax, stick with Meguiar's. This is the first time I'll be returning wax for a full refund.

If it isnt worth working for it isnt worth having...those are the types of waxes I use and I found that the micro towels work unbelievably well. Just my two cents

Yeh, I used the microfiber towels too. Don't know what the problem was, but after posting my review on another camaro site almost everyone responded saying they never had good results with Mother's. My biggest complaint is that after I did all that work to get it off, it didn't really feel smooth, it shined.. but anything is going to shine if it's clean.

Replied to your lineup thread before noticing this one, haha. In my opinion, I truely didn't see any difference in shine. Then again, I've never seen any difference in shine in any wax at all. In my opinion, as long as a car is clean, it's going to shine a LOT. Elaborating on this, here is a picture of my car after it was washed twice with dawn and claybarred (there wasn't any wax left on the car) http://www.meissenation.com/car/driver_reflection.JPG
To compare, here are three pictures of my car after using Meguiar's Gold Class:

To me, the biggest noticable difference is the smoothness of the car. After waxing with California Gold, my car felt about as smooth as the opposite side of the car that was waxed a week ago with Meguiar's... if fresh wax feels as smooth as week-old wax, to me there's something wrong.
If you can't tell, haha, I was REALLY dissatisfied with the california gold wax, it's the ONLY wax I've ever turned around and returned after using it once, then again it was also the only time I've ever strayed from Meguiar's.
