Not happy with zaino!

I have used Eagle wet shine polish before and I think it looked little bit better then zaino. I have applyed two coats of z5 and one of z2 and finished with z6. With eagle wet polish only one coat is required and I can do it in fraction of the time it took me to do with zaino. The only problem with it is it didn't last long, one car wash and its gone. I heard that with zaino it lasts a long time and it gets better with more application. So I am going to keep using it until it runs out and see for my self how much better its going to get. The question I have now is what do I do now when I want to apply it again do I have to wash it with dawn again and use clay bar or do I just wash it with z7 and apply with z5 and z2. Thanks guys

No you wash you car with Zaino Car Wash and then apply your polish, you do not need to use Dawn again, Dawn is used one time to remove oils from carnauba wax, you should clay your car once a year, or if the surface feels rough. Most of my customers only apply one coat of Zaino (unless they are using Z-5 for a light scratch or swirl problems) , am sure you will like how long Zaino lasts.

Re: Not happy with zaino!

try using less if it's hard to remove
i used z5 yesterday (3 coats) and i let it sit in the sun for 1-2 hours at a time and i had no problem removing it (also, be sure to spray a light coat of z6 on the applicator before using it)
also, use z6 inbetween your coats
it helps to bring out the shine and keep dirt off

funny thing actually, i was about to rest a cap off one of those vials on the hood of my car
dang thing slid right down and off the hood
definately a quality product and i haven't even used z2 yet

Re: Not happy with zaino!

With practice you should be able to get down to using 1/4 to 1/2 oz. per application.

Re: Not happy with zaino!

I tried several waxes on my car and was not satisfied with them at all.. After using the Zaino stuff I am a bazillion times happy.. If there was ever a miracle polishing system, this is it... My car is black.. I washed with dawn, clayed, then did two coats, and cleande up with z6.. The z6 really took it that extra mile..

A female prissy co-worker of mine was so impressed she ordered a kit for her bmw... I just wanna see her out there actually doing the work.. lol.. She is hot too.. Maybe I should offer to help..

Re: Not happy with zaino!

ITs rough the first time you use it but main reason I love it is the lack of work.

I mean honestly my car looks cleaner and better then any of my cars, with any product and I use less work.

browse through this page I made, and do a few searches on here for my screename and zaino, I made a few posts about my experience with zaino and the durability.

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/514505/3

Read how many times I washed, or hosed down my car in over 5 months. And remember my car is 100% outside in wonderful rainy FL.

Guys, Zaino isn't the only sealant out there. You all act like it's god's gift to mankind....IT'S A SEALANT. Yes, it's very durable, and yes, it's very slick. So is Klasse SG...and 1Z Glanz. It also lacks the depth of a carnauba wax just like many other sealants. That's all it is, it's not a wax, it's not a polish, it's a sealant. Don't be so narrow minded, try some other stuff, I think you'll like it if you're not completely brainwashed...

Re: Not happy with zaino!

I've used a lot of other things in the past.. I dont care what they are called, or what their specs are.. When I did my car with Zaino to me it was Gods gift to detailing.. Nothing I have ever seen worked so well, so easily...

It's not that I'm close minded.. I am just hella satisfied.. So...... What the hell's wrong with that??

Whatever floats your boat....

If it's a light color, I can understand. If it's a dark color, try topping it with P21S/S100 or Pinnacle Souveran paste wax if you wanna cream your pants

just becuase you asked if you should use dawn again makes me wonder if you even applied the stuff correctly to begin with. the instructions i got were very clear about each step especially using the zaino cleaner instead of dawn and what the purpose of the dawn is. my car was hurting until i put the zaino on it. the stuff looks amazing and i let my car sit outside all the time. after a wash i dont even need to put on the z-6 because it stays so shiny. just like someone else said i tried to put a small piece of cardboard on my hood and it slid off. keep with it and make sure you follow the directions. i am convinced you will find it very easy to maintain.

What lasts 6 months on my car in my conditions with near minimal work and looks as good? (as in only have to wash the car less then once a month)

My car, is NBM camaro 100% outdoor car in Central Florida.

Zaino isn't the only durable sealant. I've seen Klasse last up to a year, Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection 4-5 months, 1Z Glanz 4-6 months, Blackfire 4 months, the list goes on. I'm not flaming Zaino, I'm just simply saying it's not the best, because there's no such thing as the best.

Re: Not happy with zaino!

Zaino is about as durable as it gets. I'm amazed by how long it lasts. It is also very reflective.

However, if you're going to use Zaino, you need paint that is in excellent condition. Zaino is labeled as a polish, but it is not. As mentioned, it acts as a sealant. It contains no "polishing" compounds. It will not polish out swirls. I've used numerous coats of Z5, and it isn't very effective at even filling in swirls/scratches, let alone fixing them. If you are looking to rid your car of swirls and scratches, I would tell you to not start here.

After two years of Zaino use, I switched. I started using a random orbital polisher (Porter Cable) in conjunction with an actual car polish, then using a synthetic wax, and then topping with a mid to high end carnuaba wax. So I applied three coats, actually took out the swirls, and got a deeper, wetter look to my red paint than I ever got before. Three layers of Z5 never totally filled the light swirls and scratches, let alone fixed them.

If you have great paint, and durability and reflectivity are your priorities, then Zaino is a great product to use.

If you have swirls, or want a deeper, wetter look on your darker colors, I'd keep researching sites like autopia.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

edited for typos
