Post Ok guys....How do you get these blasted bugs off??

Ok...well I don't know why, but seems my Z has more paint chips in the hood than you can count...but I chalk that up as the angle and the hwy driving that I do...no biggie

But I have bugs "inplanted" in the front fascia of my car. I have tried to wax it...no results. It's like these suckers in the clearcoat and I have no idea how to get them out except for repainting the nose. Does anyone know of any way of getting this crap off w/out tearing up the clearcoat too badly? Any help is GREATLY appreciated

Billy

Cool

Well, you could try some of that Bug and Tar remover stuff they have at the auto stores and see if that works. If it's really bad, and that doesn't work, then you could always use a clay bar. That should do the trick. Do a search for "Claybar" in this section and you should find plenty of info. on how to use it. Good luck!

Yeah a clay bar should work, and the reason why waxing didnt work is because it's a protectant it wont get stuff out of the paint

I would clay prior to using an abrasive such as 3M. Start with the least abrasive product that will do the job. Claay baar should work.

Bugs have acids in their bodies that eat thru paint when left on too long and can cause a pit or gouge in the paint, if you used a mild polishing agent like the 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009, all you can do is step up in aggressiveness of the compounds and use a wheel (buffer) with a more aggressive compound like 3M Finesse It II or plain old 3M Rubbing Compound, you will dull the surrounding area and have to step back down in aggressiveness to a final finish product wax or Zaino.
