Question Question on brake rust.

When I wash my car, the tires and wheels in particular when the water is dripping of the discs it runs onto my wheels. This orange water then leaves a stain on my white wheels which is a b!tch to get off.
Two questions: How do I keep my discs from rusting?
How do I get the orange drip lines/marks from my white wheels?
My discs are really rusty but enough that mixed with water they run down the wheels causing these ugly orange lines/marks.
Help me please.

First of all your rotors dont have any protective coating at all because thats what stops your car

Your rotors will rust like any unprotected metal soaked with water..

A claybar should get rid of the stains.

You obviously can not do anything to the rotor that touches the pad, but all you have to do is by some paint (I use www.por15.com as it is made to paint right over rust with no primer and then seals it off) and paint the rotors edges, the rotor hub, and the calipers while you are at it.

Hi Kevin,

I am considering painting my chassis. Would you recommend POR-15 for the job? I am removing suspension components and engine/gearbox before the job.

Thanks.

Yes, either theirs or the chasis paint from the Eastwood Co.
