Rainy with the top off

Rainy with the top off
So, yesterday I'm driving down the road with the tops off, when, out of nowhere, rainstorm. I make it into town and get the tops on, but my cloth interior was somewhat wet.
Couple questions:
1) There's no damp smell, there's no damp feeling. Is there a risk of mildew? There were only a couple soaked spots.
2) How do you prevent mildew?
3) What's a good way to clean cloth interior? All I've ever cleaned is the vinyl and plastic parts.

Yikes.....
There could be a risk for mildew any time fabrics or other surfaces are wet for extended periods. Open all the windows and let the car air out and dry completely. I don't think there is a way to completely prevent mildew, but you could try ScotchGard, or similar product, on the cloth. For cleaning cloth, I really like Lifter 1 products. They make a great carpet cleaner that makes cloth and fabrics look like new.....with a little work though.
303 makes a fabric protector that claims to resist mildew.....
