Repaint whole car?

What would a good paint job cost? Ive been toyin with the idea, prolly wont do it, but just kind of wondering. Id go with the same color so the interior wouldnt need to be done and nothing would need to be taken off the car.

It depends on what you consider a good paint job. I got my car repainted black and it ran about $6,000 but its a pretty damn good paint job. Just a basic repaint should be less than $3000 though. I wouldnt recomend a cheap paint job like Maico though.

you can get a good paint job from a place like maaco for really cheap ($1100). BUT, YOU have to do the prep work, theyre pretty good at shooting, and if there is a blemish (a drip, orange peel etc) you can take it back and theyll fix it. hell, when you pick it up if there are problems, just tell them then and there, and theyll fix it. theyre good at spraying, but do the body work yourself, and prime it yourself, then let them paint it.

Re: Repaint whole car?

For the price of what is being stated you could paint your car yourself. If you can find someone with a decent air compressor that puts out atleast 10scfm at 90psi you could paint your car. I am going to be doing this either this summer or coming fall. The most expensive parts are the compressor, and the guns.

Plus you will have the tools later if you decide to paint something else.

If you dont mind you car being gone for a while, take it to a College that has an autobody program, they will do a great job for cheap. At my school i repainted my car with all PPG paint products and other professional products for $650 flat rate. the only reason you would have to pay more is in any replacement parts you might need. hope it helps.....

I can't verify first hand, but I've also heard from several people Maaco is not bad if you do the prep work yourself.

edit: er, that is asuming you know what you're doing and do a good job.
