What to do to keep nice paint, good shine, not for shows?

Hey all, I'm just wondering what the best products, and the best procedure are to keep paint looking nice and protected, with a good shine, but doesnt need to take 15 hours, and won't ever be going to shows. The only thing I've ever done is clean the car, then wax. I don't know why exactly, or how, to strip the wax off, and if it matters. I guess what I'm basically wondering, is there really anything else I need to do other than wash, dry, wax...and what would be the best product to use. Thanks all.

Well, there's a plethora of options. Sounds like you need a good paint cleaner and a wax/sealant.

Most of the better products will need to be ordered, but there are some pretty decent ones that should be available locally. FWIW, most store bought products are only going to last a month or two.

Which would you prefer?
