I use Windex on my stock wheels and it works very well as far as I'm concerned!

I have heard of this stuff called mothers MAG aluminum polish and I am going to try it before I sell my eagle alloy polished rims. Windex is window cleaner and it only removes surface dirt. Why in gods name would you advise someone to polish aluminum rims with it 95TA? TRy the mothers mag man. Peace

I've used everything and without ANY doubt I would recommend American Racing wheel polish. I used to drive around with my Centerlines on my 3rd gen year round even with alot of salt on the road. I tried this stuff last year on the wheels because they looked REALLY murky and after I was done I seriously could use my wheels as a beadroom mirror they where so clear. Not a single streak mark! It also didn't take much time or effort.

This should probably be in the Appearance section, not on LT1 Tech.....

I've used the Mother's MAG polish, Simichrome and a few other things, but a couple months ago I picked up the new Mothers "Incredible Billet Metal Polish".... not cheap, about $12 for 4oz..... but that stuff really is incredible. I use it on my Welds, and they shine like chrome. On the fuel rails and Holley TB it shines like nothing else ever did.

I dont believe your stock aluminum wheels were polished aluminum anyway. If they're like salad shooters they're painted wheels., in which case windex will remove dirt, but wont do anything to protect the paint.

I use this stuff that comes in a can, called Nev-R-Dull.
It is cotton wadding with polish ingrained into it.
I use it on everything metal - the wheels - tailpipes - engine detailing - brake caliper's etc..........
Great stuff...........and I still have the same can I bought 5 years ago, with plenty left.........it goes a long way.

I'll move this over to the Show and Shine forum where you can get some more ideas

I use several products myself... Mother's works pretty good. There is also another product I use that a local guy sells and he claims he had it "formulated". He may have because it has a cheap looking label on it but it works good

I used Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish for years until I found this new stuff called Auto-Tech. This is by far the best product I have ever used. For an example I once polishd a set of wheels for my boss with mothers and they still looked dull and dirty. At this time I heard about this product called Auto Tech from a professional auto detailer. I tried it out on my boss's rims and he was amazed and so was I. No hard rubbing easy removal, Ill never use any other product on my wheels or anyones elses rims that I do.

American Racing has two products that work great. The first is a cleaner and the second is a protectant.

Once I accidentally sprayed Westley's on my wheels and my Eagle One paiste wouldn't take it off. So I went and got Eagle One Billet Aluminum polish (in a black bottle) and it works awesome. It even polishes my fuel rails up nice too. Just my 2 cents but any of the more expensive stuff should work good.

white blotches

Does anyone know what will get the little white blotches off the aluminum wheels. You don't notice them unless you are looking real close. My friend is a ricer and uses simple green, bleach white and other stuff to clean rims but nothing he has will take it off. I have some mother's mag polish and tried that with a dremel (polishing tip) and that didn't work either.

Thanks,
JoMo
