What's a good way to get winshield wiper scratches out of glass?

What's a good way to get winshield wiper scratches out of glass?
My winshield wipers have left scratches on my winshield.... what's a good glass polish to use? can I do it by hand?

Can you hang your finger nail in the scratch? if so, normal glass polish will not help.
